They used to be. The original Silver springs that now come on the USA Spec kit would work too, they are actually slightly softer than the whites. Def. use the original silvers if you don't have the whites.

ok that's great thanks a lot Donny. It did minimise wheel lift on the tight corners. i even tried the .45 CRC side springs and it was better (i don't have the whites) i do have the silvers, haven't had time to try them, are they close to the .45's CRC...? I also have the RSD complete side spring set, i guess i could continue going softer?

thanks again for the inputs Donny, this has helped a lot

I don't think we've compared the crc 45 to Roche springs yet, sorry

Syllag, I suggest putting the whole setup that Donny is giving you on the car and work from there. It sounds like you’re trying one piece of it at a time(I could be wrong though).

I ran Roche whites in 17.5 and CRC .45 in 13.5 at roar. They are very close.

Ya no problem.

17.5

Front:
.45 xenon springs
10k on kingpin
5 degree blocks
thick shim forward
1.5mm shim under eyelet
.75mm droop
.5mm shim on axle
.25 degree camber
1mm toe out

Short shock
Soft (one dot) spring
3 hole piston 32.5 oil
2mm droop

Rear
No shims between link and winglets (same as 1mm higher than kit setup)
.5mm shim under center pivot and rear of links
Roche White side springs, tweaked and then turned down 1/4 turn
7k in both tubes
172 width

PF Strakka body.
15g in center of car
10g on front end
Locked diff.
JFT spec tire

13.5

Same front setup as 17.5 except slightly less toe out, about .7mm

Soft (one dot) center spring
2 hole piston, 27.5 oil
1.75mm droop
Short shock

.5mm shim on front link between link and winglet
No shims under pivot (it got weird so they had to go)
ONE tube, green Shur lube
CRC .45 side springs, tweaked just touching
172 width
Lola body
10g up front
Locked diff
Ulti JM front, XS rear

Wanted to try the prolite AMR in 13.5 but we ran short on supply. I was also skeptical of going to the soft center spring because at one point I was looking for more steering. It did not take any away. It only made the transition on/off power much more predictable. The track was very smooth so bumps were not a reason to go soft. The locked diff is responding very well to softer setups. Sauce 5 minutes and wipe 8 minutes before you're up. Tires need to be pretty dry when you hit the track or you're likely to loop the car in the first couple laps.

Hi guys, I was planning on making a return in 12 scale and I have a p12 2016 with a mcfactory non-L aluminium chassis. Will it still be competitive or should I consider getting the 2017usa spec?

I would keep your car for now, race a season and then upgrade. Your 1/12 is still a good car, plus 2018 should be announced soon I hope

Guys,
I dont do this enough but I finally got around to filling out some setup sheets. I get asked a lot for 17.5 setups. I don't run it, but I've included a setup that I would start with if I was going to run 17.5. Only thing I need to double check is the front arm spacing. Hope it helps.
Donny
