I had my TRF419XR still new in the box since January 2018. Have the aluminum chassis, Hiro screw kit, aluminum gear diff and spool gear. I don't think I will ever build it. Maybe wait when the next model comes out.

Your cars are always dialed when you do come out to race.

Hmm maybe all the new hop ups will be integrated in a new TRF420. But in my opinion the earliest date TAM will release a new generation, will be autumn. I hope it will be an advanced single belt...

But I don't believe it. I think, they will run 419XR for another season...

Hi,Tom. Since you mentioned single belt would be more advanced , how do you think about 07ms comparing to 419XR? Old question: which one to choose? We might presume that 420 would be a refined 07ms:smile:

Here you can see now the new suspension system:

Only 3 main blocks left.
Tamiya #54880 (XB - single block)
Tamiya #54883 (XB - separate blocks)
Tamiya #54881 (A - single block)
Tamiya #54884 (A - seperate blocks)
Tamiya #54882 (E - single block)
Tamiya #54885 (E - seperate blocks)

It's a question of the surface. On black CRC I would more tend to 419XR (aluminium chassis). On asphalt they are on par. Next question will be: spare parts availability... ;)

But 07MS is definitely a beauty. :D

It’s about time they get with the lower mount program.

Sorry but pill inserts are a downgrade compared to the current TRF bushing suspension...

Yeah I won't be getting those.

Raman 06-22-2019 09:10 PM

If you combine the original 415/416 blocks and the 419x blocks... I have more blocks than teeth.. and I’m not missing any teeth

So I won’t be rushing to get these blocks either.

ill patiently wait for miracle C blocks in the near future.

People have complained about the blocks for over a decade and no answer so I doubt we will see it. I agree, such a great car, besides c-hub durability. When I gave it up, I had to accept the fact that the car is made for European and Asian-style tracks, not tracks with boards like in the US.

People complain to complain. What the other brand is always better ergo grass is greener. So eventually brand X changes due to demand. Yokomo had split inner blocks with 3 point mount and Tamiya switched to those with the 419X. X Ray had blocks with insert, Yokomo eventually changed and now so did Tamiya.

im not exactly innocent for staying off the boards.. yet have to date bent 2 rear blocks only in past 7 years of running TRF cars.

Personally think the right direction of Awesomatix would be the right direction up an update..’

In the end, to each his own..

As far as the arms and pivots, yes I would agree. Much less friction than a hinge pin locked inside of pill inserts.

New hop-ups!

The all new aluminium light weight drive cups #54879 arrived today. Will exchange the TA06 steel light weight drive cups #54544 with these on my 419XR, Evo7 and 07MS.

Aluminium #54879 - over 50% weight reduction compared to #54544 - impressive! And the kit standard steel cups are alredy 2g more than #54544...

Tight fit...very good tolerances

Included are blades in two sizes on two plastic trees made from the new reinforced compound already used with the new ball cups. The wide blades are for the new front cups, the narrow ones are the same size as the old white blades and can be used in the rear.

Rear - with new reinforced blades

Two questions for you Tom. One, what do the lightweight cups actually do on the track or to the motor. I'm running stock but it's sort of the off season and not opposed to spending some money on some upgrades lol. Two, again what does the big bore upgrade translate to besides just making the car beefier? Should have mine tomorrow but honestly bought them cause of the blue cap lol
