Tried out the new aluminum gear diffs. What a world of difference. I used one with 5K and another with 3K of diff fluid. They were consistent in the way they felt all day. The fact that I was able to use the red o rings meant that there was less friction overall. I highly recommend getting these if you can swing the steep price.

Hey thanks and Yes many many years running trf cars from the 415 all the way till now. Very hard to part with it |
Hi guys.
just wondering what diff and spool setting people use on carpet? before I converted my x into an xr I always ran the diffs in the high position as per manual but since going to XR I've had them in the low position. I'm going to try them high on Friday night, hoping it will liven the car up a little? |
Do you run the centre deck or the turnbuckle? If running the deck, try the turnbuckle, and then try it without. You will be surprised on how different the car responds with those three settings.
|
Currently running the centre stiffener on the softest setting (bolted straight through from the bottom) I have tried the turnbuckle but found it a bit in consistent.
might give it another try. what's your thoughts on the diff positions? |

might give it another try. what's your thoughts on the diff positions? Raising the differential will result in more onpower traction in the end you raised it. It has to do with the driveshaft angles, which will straighten out, when accelerating, and pushing arms down. Its not a COG matter, as many think... |

Wow. The more you know.
An example for better understanding (sorry for the EVO7 pic, I had it right now on the phone): https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rct...4ef840f29f.jpg |
Thanks Tom that's a great explanation.
So with the 419xr I actually have a greater driveshaft angle with the diff in the low position, so raising the diff is likely to reduce on power grip. I'll give it a try tonight along with the turnbuckle centre. |

The car was amazing tonight, I ran spool and diff in the high position along with the turnbuckle centre brace and it was like a new car.
My mate who is usually running similar times to me every week was nowhere to be seen even with my 8 meet old tyres. |
Hy everybody! Is the 42325 Alu diff case a direct fit with the Stock diff? Or is the bevore released Alu diff Cover also required? Greetings Rainer |
