The roll bars are a joke on these TRF cars but they still make a significant affect on track. 419 have to be the last chassis with this roll bar system from Tamiya.

A good article: http://www.thard.co.uk/anti-roll-bars-setup/

(well at least that's exactly how I do it :- )

Yeah, with the current system, there's a lot of suspension travel before any effect is felt at the other end. I think in the near future most cars will move to the system you see on Xray cars (and others). That and the fact that roll bars are not going to impact things that much. Maybe if you're fighting for the last hundredth of a second. Most people have more important problems though.

Paying attention to the little details is important. For example, making sure the grub screws are not too tight, but not too loose. If you're still having trouble, find an experienced hand at your local club to check it out.

This is helpful, Phil.

went to track today and I broke 3 C hubs.
Being a bad driver is expensive... I am gonna focus on running clean from now on.

I also lost my front swing shaft during a crash... Luckily, I found it on the track. Otherwise, i would have to spend $50 to get a set.

Do you guy know if Tamiya make a set of plastic , soft version of the c hub?
Guys at the track told me I may want to run plastic c hub so it flexes upon impact.

Try chubs from TA05.
New ones are natorious for breaking on slight impact.
But until now I broke one only tho!

So 416 front and rear suspension, steering, and 417 motor mount, and a chassis shaped like the RB. First race this Friday
Well first race day report on the hybrid car, 3rd in Mod, after running 2nd for most of the final. The car was amazing from the first practice, with a very similar setup to my raceberry car. Changed to yellow mini springs front and back, 20wt oil, and the car is really close. Noticed it lifting the inside front on power, so need to diagnose that. The car is actually generating too much roll. Not a chance of flipping, but it really is rolling too much. Loving it so far!

Bad Main last night with marshall in the straightaway that I smashed into. This car is like uncontrollable on carpet in 17.5 class even. I am sure I have some faults like using used Sorex 28 tires, Dodge Stratus 3.0 bodies from 10 years ago, but I mostly have the setup close to the carpet setups some of you posted. I will post soon later today my setup or what I changed yesterday.

Here is a video of why I think I want rigid separate suspension mounts on front leading and rear trailing blocks. That 1F block has got to be bent now good.

Yesterday I completed my Tamiya TRF419.

I'm not too happy with the short shocks 42273. The 25mm spring are simply too long and you can see it in the picture. Front I came up to 5mm (further down does not work) with the spring (Yokomo Pink Front and Rear Blue). But rear I still have a little room (with the blue spring).

I ordered the wrong shock towers that have just the wrong height, unfortunately too early happy.

Should have to wait for the even shorter shock towers. I`m a litte sad aboud that

I want to go next week to test times and especially the 2mm chassis with steering brace on carpet. I'm very curious how it work together

For me, 23mm Spring would be the best choice. But there is nothing ... people ... business idea

Yes, that was my fault ...

These were the first shorter shock towers and I bought this.
I knew nothing of even shorter

That's horrible! You need to shim those a arms mate! Even on the video you can see they are not properly shimmed.
Your tires are definitely not the problem, Sorex 28R are excellent tires. My FF04 EVO goes like shit of the shovel with them on.
Those are also kit springs huh? Get some Yokomo springs for carpet.

Simmi you have to use the spring adjusters from the TRF419 shocks on the 42273 shocks (Btw Its mentioned in the shock towers article). This allows you to use the 25mm springs and have a ride height of less than 5mm with the 25mm springs. So no need to be sad Here is a pic

It will take you 5 mins to swap them from your 419 shocks onto those.

I have a new set-up that I will put on the site today / tomorrow from a racer who used them at Grand Prix des 3 frontiers in Longwy.

If you want to use the X-Ray shocks then the others are available here.
http://www.fibre-lyte.co.uk/fl/cars/tamiya/trf419.html

There are quite a few guys who have both sets and use them depending on what tracks they run on. It seems most prefer the 25mm spring ones over the shorter 20mm ones but that is because their is a wider choice of springs.
