The front post to get alignment plus well secured tape is more than enough.

im using another screw in the rear battery stopper, very secure but dont make it squeeze the battery as that will alter flex, just have it with a little wiggle room

The problem with the he counter sunk screws is that can break the casing of the batteries. There's a black foam that Tamiya provides in some kits, I cut a peace of that and put it on the battery, so the screw doesn't damage it

Rheinard was using the current 419.

Awesomatix dominated that event. MR was third and Krapp 4th.
New A800 is impressive, as is BD7 2016.
Sounds like the prototype TRF 419X/420 was 2nd and 3rd at AOC. Can't wait to see pics of the new car.

Yes, Naoto and Akio were running prototype cars and ended up 2nd and 3rd. They qualified 7th and 6th after an accident. The TRF cars looked good, but the BD7 2016's were on another level. Ronald's car checked out after the first corner of the A-main. Almost lapped the whole field! Ronald's average lap times were faster than Naoto's and Akio's fastest laps. Yikes!

In all seriousness, Volker is simply a great driver who is supported by great racecraft and team. His combination of consistency, temperament and lines is outstanding. I've only seen him personally at a few different tracks, but he's up to pace extremely quickly. No one chassis/platform has supermagical powers, but watching talented racers is always a joy.

BD7 on another level or just Volker?

Where was the next best Yoko?

Nicolas Lee was running a BD7 2016 and had the second fastest lap which was 11.551. Ronald's fastest lap was a 11.527. Akio 11.774 and Naoto 11.780. I would say the car is fast and Volker is just consistently fast.

Cool. Thanks!

That was a high grip carpet track though wasn't it? Volker was running an aluminium chassis. It will be good to see how it runs outside. The Volker / BD7 combo does look very impressive though.

I'm finding that the stock trf419 belts do not last very long with a 5.5t motor, what other belts can I use with stock pulleys?

Dan 12-04-2015 07:22 AM

How tight are you running the belts?

TB03Racer09 12-04-2015 03:53 PM

The eccentric adjusters are at stock position

Im mostly referring to moving the battery in towards the centerline or out at the rear. I removed a spacer at the front which straightened the battery out a bit down the centerline but the rear of the battery still sits in closer to the centerline than the front does. I'll try a piece of servo tape at the rear as Im trying to move the rear of the battery away from the centerline a bit.
