How are these 4 motors actually ranked from your tests?

I have run mine on carpet (TC) 3.6ish fdr 12.5 rotor max timing. Comes off the track considerably cooler than my killshot, not as much rip.

More testing tomorrow, pretty average motor so far.

Ask ROAR. Their hold up....Not trinity's.

I would guess its the same reason the ORCA 4.1 Software passed testing in Late March/April at the ROAR lab and still isnt on the list.

3.8fdr 12.5 rotor 55 degrees timing coming off @140-150(carpet 80+ air temp) plenty of rip and top speed felt really good no fade to speak of...... I like it!

I am a middle of the pack guy and have nowhere near the number of laps a lot of you do, next trip will run back to back with my fav killshot

Ran my D4 17.5 today in Blinky. Asphalt track 100' x 60'. Track temp was 143°(almost 60° C). Ran 55° on motor, stock rotor & geared 3.8. It ran great. Pulled hard & temps was 170°+. It got to 181° in the main. Pushed it real hard. Lots of D3.5's in our main. They pulled about 20+ feet longer then my D4. It had more to end then their cars.

We have our Electric onroad series (EOS) next Sunday. I will see how it runs against our other fast racers in our state.

tried to blow one up today (60deg) in 17.5 it handled the heat very well, no fade at the end of my run 200deg F, it was kind of weird. I was waiting for the motor to fade so I can pull it off and check motor temps. My lap times were consistent start to finish.

55 timing is the sweet spot. I think our asphalt track is 120 x 60. 3.6-3.8 FDR 50-55 timing with 12.5 rotor Is where I would start this motor in stock TC.

Sounds good. I was gonna run my Express D4 this past Saturday but my iron failed. I'll be trying it out this coming weekend for sure. I was gonna start out at 56 timing and 3.2 final, but I think I'll back off a few teeth and work it from there.
