Does the 6ms come with the new 419x arms and rear hubs? Or any other 419x parts?

6MS comes with the 418 arms because the kit has the old short type dampers. But you can hop up the new 419x 0.5 key locked separate suspension blocks and the new 419x battery holder, which both i've installed.

Regards.

just a few a questions on the 6ms...

what size pinion gear should i run with a 13.5 brushless motor for just cruising around the parking lot?

whats the advantage of using the separate suspension blocks vs the kit supplies one piece?

also, where did can you get the 419x battery holder?

For 13.5 blinky I would suggest a fdr of 5.0 as a starting point. Depends on your motor.

With seperate suspension blocks you can fine tune flex characteristics as the 6ms with his aluminium lowerdeck is stiff as hell.

419x battery holders you can get here: http://www.modellbau-seidel.de/index.php?firma=Tamiya&best=9804950

But they are on backorder at the moment...

Hey folks
I'm looking to pick up a black edition Evo6. Can someone help explain to me what the issue is with the drive train in terms of efficiency? And is it really worth getting the Exo6 conversion? Looking to run it with 10.5

I read somewhere about the L/R balance issues but Kentech's build on to the 4 corner weights seems alright.

Ran EVO6 with new 'MS' motormount this weekend.. Was nice and consistent during the early stages of the day then slowly petered out as the day went on.. was the fastest car on track at one time...

upon inspection at home after the practice day it was nice to find that the inconsistency and loss of performance was NOT due to the new MS motormount.. it was some other voodoo that I do.. crown gears at motormount showed minimal wear.

next weekend I predict better/more consistent results with this car.

...to be continued

Evo 6 Black is in my hands!!!

So I've read all 139 pages and have come to these conclusions if I want to run 10.5

SHIM SHIM SHIM - especially the gearbox bevel pinion. Seems 0.3mm is the way to go on the drive shaft side to get rid of the gear plunge.

Tap the diff case threads - stop the screw from expanding and perhaps distorting the gearbox case

I'm half and half on whether to get the Exo6 conversion ... worried as I'm planning to run 10.5 that the main axle drive cups will constantly spread.

Saw a sneaky note from MikeR about Exotek making an alu upper with 419 style camber mounts. Will be eagerly waiting!

And will post some pictures up when the build is done

Hope that rumor is true... along with some nice aluminum lowers too. I've got plenty of time to wait until late ocover rolls around and I can get racing again.

What type of track did you ran? Carpet or asphalt?
I don't like the MS because of the aluminium chassis and I can go to an asphalt track much easier than a carpet one...

Hi All,

Great results with the Tamiya/EXO-SIX! TQ'd and won USGT class at the packed 8th annual Time Zone Grand Prix.
On the big open track the EXO SIX drive shaft really shown through as it out powered the belted cars quite visibly. The only car that could match the top speeds were a carbon fiber TC4 car but thats where the Tamiyas infield handling took over. Really loving this car even if I say so myself lol

Note, alloy chassis was used simply because of the 1450gr weight rule. I still had to add many blocks of lead.

I play at Tamiya America Raceway.. outdoor, asphalt. I'm currently running the original CarbonFibre chassis.. I don't totally believe in any Aluminum Chassis strategy personally. (long story, wont get into that)..

Only thing I'm using from the MS kit on my car are the Motomount and the new 'lighter' Alum Shocktower Stays. (you save about 2.5g per)
