Mike did me right. He sent the parts out and I was able to finish the conversion. I just have to get a few more items and my car will be ready to race.

Redrc just announced this.

http://www.redrc.net/2016/06/tamiya-...uring-car-kit/

Is this new or the same on this thread? The name seems the exact same.

If it is new, where can I buy?

Is this a good car for 17.5 blinky class?

what is the difference between this and the prior releases? Is there a naming difference between the two?

The ms version comes with a new motor mount and aluminum chassis. You can grab them over seas for about $360. Should do well in 17.5 it's a touch slower than the belt cars but not by much.

It has an aluminum lower deck (previous one was carbon fiber) and a new center aluminum bulk head to help with gear mesh.
It is the MS version of the EVO.6. item 84427

Default TB Evo 6 MS

Hi.

I have already finished the build. The new center gearbox design is much better than the old one.

Drive train is very free. But proper shimming is a must. You should purchase an extra set of shims (53585, 53586, 53587 and 53588)

The MS has a 2mm aluminium lower deck but you can optional use the carbon deck from the first version (18408014, see manual p.20).

If you build it with the original aluminium lower deck, you can use the new toe split blocks from TRF419/419x and the new lipo holders from TRF419X.

TB Evo 6 MS does not come with aluminum bulkheads. These are hop up parts (84425) and they have a limited run. Already sold out in most shops. Luckily I got 2 of them...

Off-road guy here. Curious if the exotek conversion works with modified motors? Anyone tried it? Also what is it with long lipo packs - anyone tried a shorty or is it a weight thing?

Limited production run on the aluminum lowers huh? Even more reason to get some quality Exo parts made.

As for the long battery, I believe it is a weight thing. I run 6500's and still have to add 45g to make minimum 1450 for usgt.

Modified+shaft would equal mass tire spin for on-road- just too much for good consistent lap times. Even the Exotek chassis would have a hard time with that due to the direct feel of the shaft drive. Belt cars are best for modified on-road my friend
