The gear noise in my EVO6 was a real draw back for me I always thought the noise was sound of horsepower being loss.
I always servo taped my batteries down and i would move tthem towards the rear to get better balance so the sliding battery mounts is a big plus for me in the EXO6 chassis.
I race gt3 we use USGT rules except we run slicks with 21.5 motors the less noise and drag in the drive train relates directly to faster lap times I am so pumped to try EXO6 I really love my EVO6 even better then my 418.
The EXO6 is the design Tamiya should have used in the first place for the EVO6! With the corner speed the Awsomatix cars have it should have been a no brainer for Tamiya to build modern shaft drive car that isn't as fragile as an Awsomatix is. I'm hoping to get the corner speed of an Awsomatix and the reliability of a Tamiya.

The Exo conversion is pretty fast. I have seen the test car in the hands of a good driver with a 17.5 and it is excellent.

Hopefully Exotek can chime in on this,

Any idea if the 54052 Universal center shaft (TB03 upgrade EVO V standard) will work with the 6 conversion?

Thanks!

Mike

EX06 will be the same as a tc4 with bling..... Interesting how manufacturers are going back to the old AE design...... Cheers...

No, because the shaft is longer than the standard EVO6/TB04 shafts.

However, if you buy the Exotek EXO-FIVE DRIVE CUP, then I don't see why it won't work.

Correct, replace with the EXO-FIVE drive cup if using TB03/Evo5 shaft.

Mike, when and where will you be publishing the EXO 6 conversion manual and setup suggestions?

My Awesomatix is more durable than my 418. And the Evo 6 pretty much has 418 suspension.

The Exo 6 looks really cool though, I would have totally considered it if I didn't have an Awesomatix now.

Considering it shares the TB04 diff cases, yes, you can run any diff offered for the TB04 on the Evo 6.

I shouldn't have said durable on our track we were having a problem getting over the bumps in the entrance to the sweeper. We couldn't get the dampening right if we set it to get over the bumps in the sweeper it would compromise the handling in the rest of the track. The cars that use conventional dampening system i.e. fluid filled dampeners and springs work over the bump.
You are right about 418 c-hubs if you can't stay off the falls your done. My friend sold his 418 for that very reason 2 c-hubs in 2 heat races, he was done with his 418.

Other than tub vs carbon chassis, what is the difference in the tb04r and the EVO6. Do they share the same suspension geometry and parts? Looks like the cheapest route for the EXO 6 is a tb04r and the conversion. Fewer left over parts that will be hard to sell.

Thats why they came out with the new d2.1 dampers you can fill yourself. Works great on bumps now.

Sure the EX will be awesome Exotek stuff always is!
