Hey all. I picked up two packs of the new EMAXX stick packs by www.promatchracing.com . my number 1 pack has given about 500 seconds of run time, nice. The number two pack however is around 390 seconds. All this at a 20 amp discharge. I contacted pro-match and they said I should run them some more and see if it will increase the times. Anyone else have issues with these or other NIMH cells not initially reaching there expected discharge time numbers? what do you do to wake the cells up? They have a no questions asked return policy so I may do that. I figure though that since they cells are going to be the hot ticket we should start a thread on them.

i am going to get some 4-cell packs from promatch for 1/12 mod and am considering there 3300 or some of the more proven 3000's. what do you guys think of 3300's or just gp the company. i think 3300 may be the way to go but dont know if i should get gp's or wait for sanyo or panasonics to get to the shops. when are these cells expected. any help would be apreciated.

There does appear to be quite a range of different "quality" with GP3300.....I have 3 packs of loose cells and 1 pack of Trinty Team. 2 of the loose cell packs are quite punchy..the 3rd is noticabley flatter.....haven't got round to measuring the discharge of these packs yet!

The Trinity pack is something else.......

I just bought 3 packs of World Class 3300's. Numbers are all around, 410seconds, 1.15v, 20-21 IR. I've only built and ran one of these packs, on it's first (and only) run I noticed it had less punch but definately more runtime and was much smoother than my HV packs which are about a year old. This was running foam sedan on carpet with a 10x2 Ti. I really think the 3000's will be better for stock classes because of the extra punch, but it's hard saying what Sanyo or Panasonic will bring to the table when they release 3300's. With my 10x2 Ti which was slightly overgeared, I ran almost 7 minutes with the 3300's, and barely make 5mins with HV's.

This week of racing I let some of the guys charge my packs on there Integy 16x3 chargers and the times went up pretty well (almost 100 seconds). I lent out the packs so they could get more runs on them and they were SMOKIN! really powerful and lots of punch. When speaking to some of the more advanced to expert racers they told me it takes some time for the packs to really show there snuff, but lot less time than the 3000s. I am gonna keep using the packs and see how it goes.

I have a pack of SMC 3300's that I have been testing on Oval some. They run every bit as good as a "Good" HV up front and finish stronger than an HV in 19 turn. With the HV's the best run is the very first run. With the GP 3300's they run best after 2 or 3 cycles. Then they really show their guts.

The pack I have had has been abused for about 4 weeks now. The original cycle was 402rt, 4.59v, 13.3ACTIR. After cycling once a week and running twice a week they cycle 396, 4.59, 13.1. All at 30 amps.

DO NOT TRAY OR DEAD SHORT THESE BATTERIES. They are not like Ni-cads or HV's. Best charge I have found so far is 6 amps .03 cut off, 6 amp repeak .02. Treat these like SMH or UMH.

So they'll tend to get hot at a higher voltage threshold, like SMH's & UMH's? Good heads up, I just ordered a couple of packs for my 1/12 scale, was wondering about how they want to be treated(especially with a ver. 1.20 Millenium).....

looking at SMCs website they use a 50 mV threshold for the cells while promatch uses 20-30 mV. I am assuming they both get the same cells Anyone want to try SMCs method? They also say to discharge your packs, which promatch says to leave some voltage on them.

my World Class packs said to charge at 4-5amps with .02 cutoff, discharge at 30amps to 5.4v. I'm just doing 4.5amps, .02cutoff, then discharging like W.C. said for now.

Well, from the sound of it I think I'll just play it safe & treat them like I have SMH's(as gently as possible), & then see how it goes....

Where can you buy World Class 3300 GP cells ??

I've been checking the online shops and don't see anyone that sells World Class cells.

JeffC aswell as myself got them from our LHS.
I've gone the 5 amps w/ .02 cut off and so far they just dont have the punch. i'm kinda disapointed. with the 11x1 in my foam sedan car i can get 8 min runtime easily but the power isint there.

I think they are reffering to major brand matched batteries such as the Trinity GNT3300 which is the highest voltage pack (somehow other hobby shop comes up with part number GNT3300V).

I got myself couple of them (GNT3300) hand picked (supplier's said) at 1.15+V, 412+ secs.
