What has everyone found to be the best tire combo on mid to high bite carpet?

I stuck 2mm shims under the posts that hold that carbon piece up, that way the screw head clears the battery.
Question, are you guys preferring the battery aligned center like this (and for what conditions)? I am just building my x1 ..it's almost complete. The instructions said that crosswise in the rear is better on high traction (which I'll be running). ..is this true?

I ran my battery inline and then added and removed weight on the sides where the battery would be if I ran it sideways, much prefer the added weight so will be swapping mine to sideways. It even did the chicanes better.
This is on mid to high grip asphalt.

Hello
I just picked up the xray f1 and was wondering if the futaba s9650 would work or do i need a servo with more torque?

The 9650 might be a bit small for this application. I believe that's more of a 12th scale servo. You want a low profile servo like a Futaba S9551 or KO Propo RSxone10 Response. With these cars compared to 12th scale, you are moving and trying to hold a much bigger, heavier tire.

I would agree with JayL and the instructions. Higher bite asphalt and carpet, the transverse in my experience has been faster. Steering is much more direct in feeling and aggressive. In low bite, inline has proved to be faster. Lets say on a parking lot type track that may be a little on the dusty side. I like the option to run either/Or while most other cars don't give you the option.

HA, I came to the same conclusion after trying 3 different shorty packs and all having the same clearance issue.

I've done both and I've had better luck with inline on a high bite tight carpet track. Going to give the Drew Ellis setup a try but with the battery inline. I'm new to onroad but I'm the guy to beat in F1 already. Class is slowly picking up steam...
If the setup calls for 350cst in the side shock what oil will be close with the Tamiya damper tube?

Eric get another set of the L battery stops, put them into the chassis (have 4 on the car) and mount the electronics for the inline configuration. You can then swap the battery position between inline and across.
