Ordered my car today from LHS. Should have it by Friday. Any things to watch for on the build ? Going to do a basic paint to get the car running, then what body should I buy to get custom painted ? Thanks in advance for any input.

tekin112000, I have not used sweep F1 tires yet. I like there TC tires. I only run on a small polished cement track so might not be the best judge of tires, lol.

I recently picked up an X1 and I'm new to F1. I'm wondering about tyres, we run on smooth asphalt (purpose built track), and the temperatures will soon be mid 20s (Celcius). I have a set of Pit 571/572s on the way, but I have heard they don't like hotter climates. Are Ride XRs a good alternative? I'll try the Pits first of course.

Pit Shimizu/TCS 571/572 combo on asphalt and seem to be working quite well.
that is a great combo and I recommend as well.

Only issue is that the fronts can be a bit more grippy in mine and a few others opinions and when the temps come up it's exaggerated even more.
An alternative that has proven to work for many of us are the Tamiya F60 kit front tires which still steer well but are more forgiving in my hands.
So basically a little bit harder front tire can help settle the car down if the rear is loose with the 571/572 combo.
The 572 rear tire is hard to beat on asphalt.

That tire combo is so good that Tamiya had them made with their TCS logo on them for us to use at TCS races.

Tire selection is subjective. Setup is critical to tire.
All the options mentioned work on differing surfaces. People refused to believe I use the Pit Shimizu 574/575 combo on a high traction/High speed track with a track temp of 154 F. It was the fastest tire combo that day but worked with my setup. Your mileage may vary. I like a car with a crap load of steering and I manage my tires during a run.
With that said, the 571/572 or Tamiya Kit Front/572 combos seem to be the most popular choices in the Shimizu range.
