5.5 to 6.5 depending on track size works fine for me (LRP X20).

So had anyone added extra shims on the hinge pins? Or is everyone just pinching the mounts when they tighten them?

I opted to add 0.2 shims to the rears instead of pinching the mounts , the fronts were fine so no need to pinch/shim.

I used 2x 3x6x0.5mm aluminum shims with a 3x5x0.2 between them. I don't know of anyone who makes the super thin ones in 3x6.

Thanks guys. The track is fairly small. I think about a 70ft/20 meter straight. I'll go to 6.5 and adjust!

I built it according to the manual. No play.
Only thing.. I used aluminum shims. Not too comfortable with plastic shims.I don't think you can get accurate measurements with plastic verses aluminum.

I need Team Xray to come out with the Ozite Carpet Racing Upgrade that is Hard Coat Alloy Screw Set for the bottom main and whole chassis for the Ozite weight and they will last.

And also the Carbon Spur Shaft Carbon Front and Rear Low Suspension Shaft.
