The 1510 refers to the measurements of the bearing.
15mm Outside Diameter and 10mm Inside Diameter. For your info, it's 4mm in width.

You can go ceramic if you like, but all bearings wear out. In my opinion it's just simpler to buy cheap bearings and replace them when they are gritty, then to spend $100 for ceramics that you will have to replace anyway.

But it's your money/choice....

Thanks. I ordered these:

As an alternative, I've found the Spec-R oiled bearings hold up quite well in the bulkhead carriers and just about everywhere else. Their 5x10x3 bearings are not as durable as other brands but they are still cheap enough to consider. Besides, how many people run regular bearings, out of the package, without removing seals and/or soaking them in acetone to remove the grease?

I tend to inspect my DCJ pins after every two race days and at least one of the x3 bearings will feel a bit crunchy. At just over $1/ea, I'm good with an extra couple bucks every 2 race days in maintenance cost. Leaves me with more money to spend at the bar after racing.

2nd and 3rd for Marc and Jilles respectively at RROC this weekend in the ever improving 418!

No one can stop Volker it seems, but good showing from the car overall with 3 (or was it 4?) in the top 10.

And no more pics from the Tamiya Cars why?

On Marcs Facebook page only results and other pics

Very much doubt they want to reveal what they are changing. Assuming they have of course....

Geez that wing is really hangin' off the back of the car by the skin of its teeth. What are the regulations for Reedy, isn't the wing supposed to not extend (further) behind the body?

Jorge T 05-26-2014 03:52 AM

Look close, the wing is up to the front of the mounting tabs. The wing can extend 10mm past the rear bumper

niznai 05-26-2014 04:02 AM

Yeah, I saw that, it's butted up to the edge of the wing and it hangs out at the back. Didn't know your rules allow that.

Agreed, excellent performance at Reedy by the TRF Big 3. IFMAR may be a better fight than most have anticipated. Tamiya knows how to rally for World Championships and clearly they are working hard to develop and change the car to make it better.
I think TRF will be right with Volker at IFMAR.

I'm a huge Tamiya fan. But Volker really was still on another level. The way he closed the gap coming from behind on everyone including Tamiya's big (3). There's still a lot of work to catch up.

How much of that is the car though
It's not as though all BD7 drivers crushed every Tamiya driver...

RV is simply the best at the moment

You are however the king of plastic-fantastic chassis setups! Good run Champ!

The TRF cars looked much better at Reedy. They did however seemed to miss the right changes once the sun came out. They should have asked Rod/Lee/Edgar what to do ;)

No one seemed to have as much power as Ronald. The tell tale sign was amount of motor he only showed only once when he passed two cars going down the straight. It was like hitting the push-to-pass button.

Good to see Jilles in the hunt. Perhaps the time running other classes has helped his sedan program. He seemed fresh and hungry.
