I'm guessing 3rd qualifier Rod was running the 418? Any others in the show? Heck, for that matter any info on all the other A spec cars?
So far we can deduce the two Arcs and the two A700s from their respective threads. The lack of this type of information these days is.... Sad? Back to reading old RCCAs when you got the top 10 breakdowns! Thanks! Mike Slaughter |

Sorry for not posting any sooner as I had other things to take care of as well as catching up on the DVR.
The 418 was much better than the driver. I had a mediocre weekend and was a bit behind on setups considering the unbelievable amount of traction there was. I was out to lunch most of the time and after a few setup suggestions from Edgar, the car came to life and was back on "another level" pace. I did not drive any better on Sunday and the results speak for themselves. I apologize for blowing out and ruining others' races. In A1, I thumped Kyle in the carousel and peeled Joven after being marshaled. In A3, I spun J. Filipow (who raced me super clean in A2) after going wide into the first corner. Sorry for driving like an asshat. I'll post more details and setup as soon as I can. |

I ran the 418 in Open Modified last week at the RROC. Car was on point for most of the weekend. Qualified P5 and finished P4 in the triple A mains. Missed the setup in 2nd A when track temps went WAY up:flaming: compared to 1st A. All in all though the 418 performed excellently against a stacked field of drivers. I ran both a short shock arrangement (Smokem low profile shock towers with Tamiya short shocks) and the standard shock setup. Short when the grip levels were through the roof when it was cool and long (standard Tamiya shocks/towers) when it got hot and greasy.
I was the only Tamiya car in the Open Modified field. Big thanks to Jilles Groskamp for sharing a ton of his knowledge with me over the weekend to take me from the bottom half of the A to the top half! Couldn't have done it without your help. Hope you made it home safely. Lee Passehl |
Nice.

Time for some more Grosskamp videos!
What sort of things did he share that really stood out? |
how long before tamiya normally releases a updated version or special edition of the 418 do you think?

Marc's got a pic posted on his Facebook from the Reedy Race where every competitor and their team are listed. Not quite an old school breakdown with all the gear, but a nice list.
