Has anybody tried the new square aluminum 5deg C-hubs
on carpet yet?

Where can I find Titanium turnbuckles in the sizes needed for the 418?

3mm x 42mm and 3mm x 32mm

Yoko makes the 3mm x 42 but they do not have or I couldn't find any 3mm x 32mm

Thanks.

I bought the 3 racing knuckles from tq.

The yokomo (Lunsford) 29mm ones will work fine in place of the 32mm

They are a bit shorter - but long enough and not a real drama being shorter as they are stronger.

Or from Associated TC 6.2 work well.

Next year outdoor I use it also.

Do any of these spur gears fit the trf418? Arrowmax, Kawada Super Tough , Serpent?

cplus 10-06-2014 01:41 AM

Kawada Super Ex do.

Panaracer and Xenon also do.

They are the three I've used.

Apparently litespeed is okay.

I found a place that sells, panracer, xenon and kawada, thanks for the help

I have to admit I was feeling pretty annoyed with Tamiya for abandoning the 418 completely within a year... but then I worked on it last night in preparation for its first race outing in months... how can you hate something so pretty???

Any recent opinions on aftermarket chassis?

New indoor season is just starting and I just had possibly my worst ever result at a club meeting. I just can't find any consistency for the rear my 418.

Should I try an aftermarket chassis to try and cure my car's vices, or make a clean break and try a completely different car?

Samix and Smokem seem to be my options.

b20btec 10-07-2014 06:18 PM

I always wanted to try a samix but can't find the full conversion. The factory motor mount fits the trinity motors funny, not much of an adjustment. I tried bezerk chassis, works pretty good on low to med traction but factory was superb on carpet for 17.5 blinky. On carpet short shocks was the ticket.

I have a very well maintained, carpet only 417v5 for sale for cheap. Comes with lots of extras.
