If nothing else it's a beautiful car

The more I look at the pictures of this car, the more excited I'm getting. I'm still running a 417x so this is a very viable upgrade for me. Hopefully we'll start seeing some race reports and results from team drivers with the car soon.

I could care less if Tamiya copied the Yokomo design, as long as it works and it's fast. Would I have prefered to see some ground breaking design, like the Mi5 or the Awesomatrix? Yes, but I didn't expect Tamiya to make a huge leap to a design that's been winning for the last 3 years. The big surprise to me was the revised suspension arms from the tried and true design that's been working well and winning tons of races.

like the way the v5 looks way better... the servo mount on the v5 is much nicer....

Thats the main point

Doesnt the TA06 have these hubs etc already in softer plastic? If so I assume they are the same (I've used these on my 417 for more grip)

syndr0me 09-19-2013 07:22 AM

The TA0? parts are shiny black plastic and SUPER flexible. I'd be surprised if it's that material. Perhaps something in the middle.

Th softer plastics give a little more grip. As syndrome said the ta06 plastics are very flexible so I think the new ones will be closer to the 417. The new arms look lighter which will reduce the unsprung weight and the different shock and sway bar mounts will also make a difference. They may also be a different length which will change the track width and geometry

10x man!!! Shoud I upgrade to softer plastic or should I stay with the origina trf ones? Do the break Moore?

Qatmix 09-21-2013 02:43 PM

I have used the TA06 parts for carpet and they can work quite well on carpet. I felt it made the car more steady making the car not as keen to flip the rear end.

I only use the plastic arms when it's very cold. The standard carbon parts are best for most conditions, but i think these new 418 plastic parts will be a worthwhile upgrade

Is it December yet?
