The IB3800 have only been available for 2 months so we don't have any info based on long term use.

I'll do my best to keep everyone informed on how my three deadshorted IB3800's hold up over the next few months.

My 9-month old deadshorted GP3300 are better in evry way on packs that are of equal vintage-so this will be a great comparo.

Follow the guidelines on our website. You can deadshort your packs but I can't guarantee the long time effects on the IB cells since it's still a new cell.
Thank you, i just got my 12packs today a i cannot believe the runtime these thing have i will try a few packs this weekend as is and try a few packs bring them down to .0v and a few packs deadshort.

Just wondering if you can use a fan to keep the ib3800/3600 cool during charging? Or should you not do that? And also, can anyone please advise if step charging shows any improvement in voltage for these cells over linear charging?

don't use a fan while charging... Not a good idea it changes the point the pack will peak at and the batteries don't like it.

As for step charging... I have not seen any gains myself although the step charging does keep the batteries cooler and they perform about the same on the track. Maybe consider it better for the longevity of the battery??

Speaking of step charging...... does anyone have a good charge setup for the 3800's on the MMR Cell master?

Korey,
I don’t know about good set up. But this is what I have been using. Use it at your own risk.

Step 1:
3060mA at 7A

Step 2:
3080mA at 0.2A

Step 3:
5500mA at 4A
Tn 48F Delta 04 no re peak

I am only run indoor with A/C at the moment.

I have heard that the profile for 3700's on Orion's website works well. Just go on their site under FAQ's and look up Hara's profile for the Reedy Race.

I am using a lower peak value (.03 instead of 0.05) and if I store the non DS ones for more than a week-I leave a little charge in them-then tray them before charging back-up. But i charge them the same (6 to 7 depending if stock or modified)-discharge them the same way (35 amps to 0.9/cell).

sounds like it will be a walk in the park for the change over

Q) have you compared these to GP37`s in performance terms
much init or not??
i know the GP are heavier & bigger

long term with the IB`s how many charges do you reckon they can have??
close to GP33`s in life terms

you guy`s in the US have more experience with these as in the uk they are not readily available yet (won`t be legal till April 2006)
