The TB EVO III one ways and diffs do not fit (too wide). I have a one way shaft from tech to get some testing in, untill tamiya releases one. With the shaft you still use the ball diff in front.

Wow, this thread has dropped off. Everybody racing? How's it going?

Pit Meds are showing a lot of wear on our rough asphalt but still grip good. Seeing how the Tamiya A's are working for other people, I may get a set of those next unless it gets hot soon. Anybody tried the new Square softs or hards yet?

Boy, those new 3Racing shocks sure are a good deal. Glad I didn't spring for the Tamiya bodies yet. And it looks like the front ones have keepers so you can change springs without having to unscrew the shock ends. Correct me if I'm wrong.

We changed our class at my track to allow kit motors or the Trinity 21t street specs motors. They have more low end (with kit gears) but same top end. We have to use spec brushes so I guess I am going to have to mess with spring tension to get some more rpm's out them.

The next step for our F1 class is to go brushless. I need to save up for that. Lot of guys chomping at the bit to get the carbon chassis too. It does look cool. (We are trying to follow some rules to keep it on the cheap side. If they wanna blow money, race mod sedan.)

Ok, TTT

I would think there would be some activity on the thread. There are over 30 f1's scheduled for this weekends race at TA.

dsrbltoys,

As of today, 40+ in F1 is what I'm told, over 150 entries total for this weekend's TCS, so the F1 is taking up a good chunk of it I'll be racing F1 this Sunday as well, should be a lot of fun.

any news whether tamiya will come up with a TRF F201? hopefully with a carbon fiber chassis so we can use side-by-side packs.

Aye chihuahua! Good thing I didn't decide to race my F201. That's nuts! Any word on the number of GT2, GT3 and Rally entries?

F201 chassis splitting?...

Has anybody experienced an issue where the F201 chassis cracks and or splits starting from the motor mount screw area?.

Motor has been in and out of the car many times, also using the Alloy mount. Chassis has had no major impacts and the screw tension has never been over tight.

thanks

Black-knight,

Although I never had it happen to me before, but it is certainly a possibility. With the motor mount on top, that particular part of the chassis go through a lot of heating up and cooling, which make the already brittle ABS plastic even more brittle. So as you tighten the motor screw, it can easily crack it as it seats into the countersunk. That part of the chassis ( the countersunk screw holes) tend to be very thin, which doesn't help either

I counted 42 that showed up for F201. I forgot how much fun it is to race it. Except for it being a bit brittle, I love driving it.

Default diff slipping?

I just installed the novak brushless motor in my car and now there is a noise that sounds like gears are skipping. When holding the car up and letting the tires spin free the car sounds normal. Its when I set the car down and run it that I hear the noise.

My question is? Could this noise be the diffs slipping?
