I can't wait to get this kit going. At my club the Top Guns run Xray T4, Yokomo BD7, TA 6.2, Durango DETC410 plus 1 Mi.5. - 17.5T Blinky

My idea behind this TC is to build something below budget and show the guys you don't really need the most expensive chassis with top dollar Electronics to be competitive.

My Setup will be as follows.

Chassis: XI Sport
Body: 3 Racing Touring Car Body V.2
ESC : HW Justock XR10
Motor : Trinity D4 17.5T(45 Degree Timing)
Servo : Savox 1251MG Low Profile
Spur : 3 Racing 70T(48p)
Pinion: 3 Racing 32T(48p)
Battery : Trinity Nano-Tech 6500mah 65c-110c
Receiver & Radio : SR300 & Spektrum DX3C

Chassis Upgrades
- Aluminum Floating Servo Mount
- Universal Shaft Cushions 3.5mm
- Front 38T Gear Diff
- Front & Rear Stabilizer's

* These upgrades will be added before my first run *

Spares
- Front & Rear susp Arms(Graphite)
- Front & Rear Shock Tower(Normal)
- Steel Linkage Set & Ball End Set
- Front & Rear Low Friction Belts
- 70T(48p) Spur
- 30T & 34 T Pinion(48p)
- Rear Hubs(2dg)
- Knuckles
- King Pin Post
- C Hubs(4dg)

I'll be running the front diff on 500k oil & rear diff 2k oil.

If there is any advice please feel free to share... I'll be building my kit with the help of 3Racing's Facebook page that gives advice & tips on building the XI Sport.

Cheers

I have my most current baseline setup on page 63.

I would stay away from the graphite arms and also get a smaller spur gear. But YMMV.

Let us know how it goes!

Had a another run on a small indoor carpet track. Its mostly for 1:12 Supastox Cars. Had my 2nd time there ever and I think the car is AWESOME! I had some pretty pretty serious bangs and nothing broke. It seems like a tank for me!

Car is very easy to handle, does nothing stupid. I think its one of the best cars for any beginner.

Did a small video:
https://youtu.be/wXZ58zPf7nM

Best guys run 07:10, my best was 08:40..so quite okay for me!

Hi Guys

I need help in choosing a lipo battery for my 17.5 Blinky Xi Sport.

I know the total weight of the servo&motor&esc incl wires will be around 295g.

Should I go for a big lipo with high MAH and C rating, or go with low MAH 3800 - 5000 low c rating but weight at around 280g? to make my balancing on the car easy to tune..?

I'm not sure where I went wrong...
I'm running my XI Sport box stock except for the springs. I have 5.5 coils in the front and 5.25 coils in the back. Even on foam tires, the car almost feels like it's on drift tires. It spins the tires on acceleration, slides under braking, understeers entering a turn, and oversteers on turn exit with anything more than a touch of throttle. I thought it was the foams, but swapping them onto another car worked fine...
What in the world have I done wrong??

Check your droop and toe settings. Car may be tweaked. Add traction to the rear (or remove traction from the front). Suggestions:

- front swaybar
- traction compound in rear
- softer rear spring
- firmer front spring
- lean your rear shocks inward

What surface are you running on?

Balance is not a big deal. Lead weights fix this problem if it is way off.

So I should go for the biggest battery with highest C rating and counter the weight if needed?

Check if you have a weight limit where you run. Choose the battery so that you will be just under the limit.

Weight is just one factor in balancing/setting a car. Positioning is another, as is spring pre-load.

Balance your car with a setup station and tweek board with the current battery you are racing with. From there, you'll have a better idea of what to do.

Ok, seriously thinking about picking up this kit to start a VTA build. Have a small list put together of "preferred" inital upgrades. This will be my first touring style car and am stoked. Other than the kit/motor/esc/transmitter/servo/battery, here is what I have as preferred initial inverstments.

-Aluminum bulkheads
-Floating servo mount
-CVD- SAK-X27
-Yeah Racing X 3Racing Sakura XI Sport Performance Upgrade Combo Set #SAKXISCOMBO (gives me the upgraded hubs, arms, shocks, etc)

Any other MUST haves when getting this kit started for VTA?

I'd pass on the yeah racing set and just got mure composite knuckles and hubs.

Or 4' xray hubs.

You can buy an used xray for the money you want to spend

Or a Sakura Ultimate which has all the upgrades + many more.

The YR upgrade kit is pretty much useless for racing. I have never seen someone race with aluminum arms. And the shocks will not even fit the standard shock towers, only the carbon ones that are lower. Plus they are cca the same quality than the stock ones anyway.
