With a bit of dremel, the TCX C hubs fit in the DETC arms. I have lots of both.

I know when I'm using machine screws into plastic, I actually use a tap on a new hole. Then when I take a screw out and get ready to put it back in, I'll turn the opposite direction from tightening so the screw kind of jumps the thread, then its starting in the same spot every time, lined up with the threads. This method really saves on the wear and tear of plastic threads. If its a case of over tightening, well then, I got nothing.
I tried using the screws for the Spec R but they are too big. I might try to fit a TCX diff since they're both 39 teeth. Or I can just be a little more careful.

Yeah its a good car. Easy to drive too! The only real issue I had with the V1 car was the steering hub plastic seems a bit soft and the screws were coming out all the time.

The V1 steering hub plastic is garbage.

Hope you didn't use loctite on the chassis screws.

Depending on which screw is wrecked, you may get it out if you take the other screw out, you may have to disassemble the car more than you want to, but then you can rotate the part the screw goes into which will loosen the screw in most cases.

I also saw a video where a guy put a elastic band over the bad screw hole and then put the wrench tip in and it was enough to get the screw out. I haven't tried this myself, but on my next wrecked screw i'm going to try it.

I do to my cars what Johnny wishbone is recommending. Take the car apart around the affected part as much as possible, and if you can get it to the point of only the bad screw, then just rotate the part loose and every time I had that issue it worked. I never had to resort to the dremel tool.

What the hell man, I was about to buy the V2 on Tower for $159.99. I HATE when manufacturers forbid the usevof discount coupons..... So it's in my cart, logged in, I click on PayPal and it transfers me to the PayPal site. All is normal. Once logged into paypal and everything is good to go, it transfers me back to Tower. All normal. Except now that price is $199.99. Seriously? In the time it took for Tower to process PayPal the price went up $40? HMMPPF I guess no DETC410V2 for me right now. It's the principle.

Oh and BTW, I wouldn't be so quick to say this car is discontinued. The reality is we know nothing. Oh and hi. Never been on an on road forum before. I'm suddenly cleaner just being here.

I think it's fair in the case of a fire sale. They're already selling it at a loss.

That is unfortunate I was considering getting one too, but not at the new price.

I'm currently rebuilding my detc410 v1 to a V2. I'll say for the price you can't beat the price this car! If you add up the rest of the cars in the tc class they are all over 399.00.

Yeah I know, even at $199 it's a steal. Little metal and carbon fiber work of art. I just felt that if it's in your shopping cart and you're in the process of checking out, prices should be honored. That's like negotiating a price on a new Ram 2500. You agree on 5
$52,000. Then when you get to the finance officer, he hands you a contract that has $65,000 on it. Then he says that the $52k was only valid when i was talking to the salesman.
