This is my point precisely. The class was created to bring value to an older chassis, this helps the guy that buys a new tc every year and a prospective r/c racer to start the hobby at a lower cost. You definitely don't need the newest tc to race vta; is a waste, but to the eyes of newcomers they may believe that they're under a disadvantage because they're not running the latest car. This is the only reason for a rule like it ( born on date).

My point exactly....you don't need rules to make peeps run older cars. The tires and lower power pretty much negate any advantage a newer chassis will offer.
