No, it is not a direct fit, but with some mod, it will fit it easily....took me 2 minutes to drill couple holes, couple countersunk 3mm screw and nuts, done.

Thanks for the offer of parts InspGadgt, I would imagine postage to the UK isn't going to be cheap.

I've e-mailed both Speed Passion & RCmart to see when they will have them back in stock; so I'll get back to you if I get really desperate.

Its the ongoing supply that worries me: I recognise that these things will get made in batches, but Speed Passion need to get bigger batches made.

With reference to kingpins unscrewing; has anyone tried a grub screw in the threaded holes in the axle?

That's what I do; takes out a lot of slop as well. I would recommend it!

I do as well. 3m x 3 set screws in each side with a dried layer of blue Loctite so it doesn't seize. It stops the king pin from riding up into the pivot ball as well.

That's actually the recommended method from SpeedPassion in the newer 185mm setup. I recommend a tiny bit of blue threadlock to really keep that grub screw in place.

So, I've been struggling with front end grip into corners since the 185mm rebuild with the plastic/carbon arms. Last night Diffuser suggested playing with the shock spring, so I just wanted to mention that Spec-R springs fit the SP shock perfectly. I tried a slightly stiffer spring and things were better, I'm hoping to improve them even further. I also went back to the 10* caster.

I had fun with mine this weekend. Green tires hurt traction, but the car was predictable and consistent. I could probably have gone to a softer front spring. The tires need a few good practices to come in. The LM-1 on the other hand was glued to the track with the foam tires. Both chassis are very forgiving.

I have a request....for those who experienced the steering block, especially the carbon reinforced material....that broke easily with a light impact on the track, can someone post a picture of the block and show me exactly where it break...?

I really don't want to crash my SP1 to recreate the scene myself and hope someone can post a pic of the block and I can find out how to improve the block....thanks.

I finally gave in to F1 racing and bought my SP-1. First of all great job with this kit SP. Building the kit wasn't really until I had to assemble the steering components. Yes just like most of all guys that built this kit, I too have stripped that oversized grub screw that holds the ball in place and I noticed that it was binding. screwed it to my power drill and problem fixed. Besides building the steering, everything else was problem free. took the car last Sunday to the track without any body or wings and being a noob in F1, I kept spinning out. After a couple of laps, I finally managed to get the hang of the car and was impressed with the handling. The kit set up gave the car more than enough traction if not too much traction around the track that the rear tires showed uneven wear due to the track being right turn biased. the kit set up with 25 weight oil, 10 degree caster and Tamiya f104 kit tire tires raised a couple of eyebrows around the track. even our F1 guru was impressed with the car. now I am just waiting for my body/ wing set from Tamiya and some shimizu tires and I'll be ready to compete. Again great job SP
