Again, you speak from your own experience Yes UK allow LiPo for stock classes, but they are the only ones as far as I know. Germans, French two another big European markets don't allow them for their events. Of course they might be allowed on private events but we talk about Nationals.

Portugal will allow them next year

I emailed Spintec and received no answers (lipo update question). Any company reps get on here ever?

I don't think the update's happening. they haven't updated their website for nearly 10 months, and they haven't had an update in 2 years. I was a hardcore fan of spintec, until, they really let me down by not updating at all, and there was no longer a service rep at rctech.

Oh well.... the ICC chargers have dropped off significantly in prices and it doesn't even fetch a decent price second-hand since the LiPos have been legalised. I'm just hanging onto the charger as I have a couple of ladder packs.... and waiting in the hopes of Spintec finally releasing a LiPo charging update....

One can only hope...

the one i bought is now at RC connect in NL (where i live) and i was talking to the Rep and hewas saying thy are working on a Lipo update

how old is the 5 cell update ???

my spintec ICC cost me less than 100 euro and it is great for me as i dont want to upgrade to lipo yet !!

i am just as quick in stock class with my 5 cells as my competitors with lipo

mainly due to them having to use a 13.5 turn motor and i can use a 10.5 turn

Well, if they are still "working" on the update, I would be really happy if they get it out quickly. They promised computer discharge curves, everything. They only really managed to fix the temperature probe problems, and hardware issues in the last 2 years. My charger still doesn't peak properly. (All my cells are finished charging, always due to temperature, and yes, I have the latest update and have messed with all the settings (I had TWO years to do it in), still, only peaks due to temperature).

They owe it to their fans (if there are still any left), who bought their charger for $400 USD when it first came out, when they promised all this wonderful stuff (from 2005) that to date (2009) still have not been able to produce.

I bought one in May after a LHS owner gave the spiel on how bad ass they were. less than a month later as soon as I got home from a road trip after charging about 40 packs POOFFF up in smoke.

That was when I discovered there are no US importers or product support. Damn, I should have some homework!

Now I have been waiting 10 days to hear back from service in the Netherlands on what to do next. Right now I have a very expensive paper weight!

its a real pity about the spintec chargers, it was easily one of the best charges on the market. I had one but have now gone to lipo and was lucky to get 1/5 of the price i paid for it 1 year ago.

I hope you get your charger fixed up as it is also a very large paper weight
