Default WR8 Top Speed

I couldn't hit 60mph with it stocked. There's a guy claiming 70mph but he didn't show any device as proof. These cars are pretty heavy for that 1/10 scale 4000kv motor and their geared for torque not speed. They're good for bashing around. Don't get me wrong they're very quick but it's not doing any speed runs out the box. I upgraded mine to a 1/8 scale system.

That's a cool mod! I made my own rear diffuser but I wish I knew about that. Lol!

Well I dab in bashing and speed runs...this car is quick out the box. I'll say it does in the high 50s stock on 3s. I upgraded mine to a 1/8 scale system so I can bash with no heat issues on stock gearing or gear up for speed runs.

What are the specs you're running? Battery? Motor kv? ESC?

I've been running the Castle Mamba Max Pro with the 3800kv combo, always on 3s. It's an awesome combo, I usually run a 16 tooth pinion but when the weather gets cool I have run up to a 20t and the car just hauls butts!

Here is some video of it rocking the 20t pinion: http://youtu.be/A9noK35tKro

Really interested in this car. Anyone driven both this and the Team Associated Prorally? I'd assume they are pretty similar for a multi surface basher running 2s on both?

The new livery is on their website as a coming soon for the nitro version. No mention on the electric yet. If they do the car electric with the new livery, I'd wait a few months to get one of those. Looks wicked.

does the 3800kv set up make a bug difference ? and in what way .. speed/temp/trqu? is it because of its 4pole? what 3800 exactly do you run?sct regular one .. long can? ect .. my wr8 is old and run thre the paces .. I cant find the bearing specs for the stock 4000kv motor so I cant rebuild it and if there is a better motor option im always doen to try it . thanks

I run a Reedy 550-SL motor. I forget the KV now but it's just as quick as the stock 4000. I changed to that motor purely for the 5mm shaft. I kept chucking pinions and got tired of trying to keep them on. Mod-1 pinion with a 3mm shaft are kinda rare too, so this made finding pinions easier.

I'm running the Castle 3800 with a 5mm shaft. I originally got it because I kept snapping motor shafts (due to worn drive cups). I'm also using the Mamba Max Pro 1:10 ESC.

I run 3s all the time and the car rips, no over heating, and it eats tires like the cookie monster eats cookies. It is awesome.

seems like a perfect replacement motor .. 5mm shaft 4000kv and 4 pole .. from what I gather the stock is not 4 pole .. I say that because I don't see it advertised anywhere as such .. and that's something most companies either point out or hid
I think ill try the reedy ..

That's the motor I have. You'll need to extend the wires and get bigger bullets to connect to the ESC. It's a very smooth, cool-running motor, even on 3s. Check EBay for prices, as I think I got mine for around $40 new.

I haven't checked it with a GPS, but is certainly seems as fast. The only difference in size was the diameter of the can, not so much the length. I run on 3s, so I'm not certain how it would perform on 2s.
