Where is Rick to say we should all run mod?

I would imagine the 17.5 class will still have a good turnout, FJ you will still have to work at that main buddy...you can do it!

It sucks that a motor is going to knock you out of this. If it helps I would happily lend you a motor or two for this race.

I have other motors, but I have a stock of d3.5 motors since I have been running them since they came out. But I do not have a local track to go run and test motors at to see which one will work the best anymore. Not that the motor will improve my chances, but the extra power helps make up for some of my bad driving

I actually doubt I could make this event anyhow since I have to miss work on friday and it is around 9-10 hour drive. It will be a last minute decision if I can or not.

Trust me - the folks running this race (Al, Larry, myself) have the same personal motor problems now as everyone planning on coming to the event and run a 17.5 motor class. If you could only see my pit box...
Wow..this hurts me bad..

LOL this is funny. You didnt have extra power if everyone was running the D3.5 you had the same power as everyone else.

This rumor has been swirling around since before the IIC I can't believe anyone would be completely blindsided by this. As I have heard grumblings about this from 3 dozen people in the last 6 months.

If only F1 was the exhibition event I would definitely attend!! Instead I feel like we are wasting entries on 13.5 motor classes =( I’m a firm believer that having more than (2) motor options per chassis causes lower turnouts not just per class but overall as well. Why do we need stock, super stock, then modified???? It should be stock or Mod. Oh well sorry for the rant, I hope this event is huge! Hopefully I can still make it though.

You would have even more sandbaggers in 17.5 if 13.5 was gone.

Also, 17.5 Blinky 1/12th is no fun. I respect the skill and precision of the guys that race it but it feels so slow.

I think that you should not be able to race 17.5 classes if you get free stuff or if you have won a 17.5 race in the last 5 years.

It's not nearly as fun now that Rick is in on the joke.

I wish I were good enough to run mod competitively, it certainly solves a lot of problems.

so I am thinking the 13.5 1/12 no esc timing is an exhibition class then it should not matter if we use a d3.5.

It does matter, but today's ruling is only for the 17.5 d3.5. 13.5 is still okay.
