Just wondering what speed controllers you guys are all using.

I m having a hell of a time finding an ESC to fit in that tiny tiny space for under 150AUD.

I m looking for something that's brushed/brushless (doesnt matter), forward,brake,reverse, and under 150AUD.

Any ideas?

I'm actually using the LRP Sphere (NON COMP) ESC. It's both brushed/brushless and has reverse mode in it as well. Fits nicely in there.

I hear the EZrun systems fit. Don't know if you'd want a sensorless for racing though.

Check out the Tekin FXR if you want just a small brushed ESC

Thanks for that guys. There is actually quite alot. I dont know what I was thinking when I posted that

I think I will go for a LRP Runner.

It's brushed only but it's for my drift car, so I m only going to be using the standard silver can with it.

Cheers!

I just had my TA05 out on the street (been testing a few aero mods as my shell was turning into a parachute, and seeing how fast my 19t motor is), and I noticed something. When I turn at high speed, the rear end 'hops' round about half an inch at a time, about 4 or 5 times a second. It doesn't seem to affect the handling compared to slow speed turning, but the tyres must wear faster. What's causing this? And how do I fix it?

Also, I need some general racing advice. This weekend, Should I race in stock (as usual), with only 5 or 6 people, and be one of the fastest (I might even be fastest the way it's going ), or in 19t/10.5 with about 15-20 people, and be slow enough to get in the way?

Thanks
Joe

Race in the class you are comfortable with. If you are going to spend all day in the top class worrying about beingin the way, you won't enjoy it. If you want to move up to improve your skills, then get in there are just remember your racing etiquite

ON the ESC things above (rnd_tang), the Novak GTX or GTS fit with a mile of space. The GTS is cheapish too

Daren, if the TA05 has an internal drive ratio of 2.25 (correct me if im wrong), then you were running a final drive ratio of about 1:4.5, which is pretty typical. I was running a 1:4.7 in my Xray.

hi all,
do any of you face with the tub chassis of the car tweaking? i think i gone thru close to 2 carbon composite chassis and 2 normal chassis and all of them tweak making it very hard to have a balance on the car while driving. is there a way to counter the chassis tweak thru setup? should i do it with an uneven droop or uneven shock spacer?
thanks

Probably you need to re-do your shocks.
Other then that check your camber and whether there are any loose screws, ballheads, wheels, partially unglued tires, etc.?
Problem could also be caused by any of the above at the frontend which offsets the rear in turn (maybe something loose in the steering)

Good luck dude, let us know what you found.

Would too much camber cause this, as I have quite a lot. I'm not sure on the exact amount, probably more than 3 degrees though. I have a little bit of slop in the steering, but not much at all, as It all comes from the cheap plastic servo.

I'll see how it does on the track, it might be that it's just the surface of my road that's the problem, as it's grippy, but coarse and untreated.

Default Any advise on getting more speed

Hi need some advise ,

currently I am running a TA05 with full 3 racing hop up , motor and esc yeah racing combo 5.5 turn . gear at 64pitch 103/33 . I use to run the car in tulf city trck . the car run very smoothly corner are petty easy to clear with the current set up lap time about 16sec average.

Can I change motor to 3.5 turn to get more speed on the straight. Cause many advise is that the car will be very diffcult to handle . Is it true? . Is there any one out there who has tried a 3.5 turn in this track.
