Yep, I've ordered some, they are cents higher than tower and some LHS. I only order stuff if my LHS can't order it , Have to support them.

Yes, I went to the track to re-build my xray. And decided e few minutes befor racing started to drive the ta05. The car worked very well. Never drove the car before. I kept making some small changes thru the main, and by then the car was dialed. I think it was lacking an upperdeck.

Just some quick questions guys.
How is the tamiya stock TZ or RZ compared to most stock motors, eg. trinity, yok, top. Just want to know cuz I'm planning on racing in the TCS just don't want to buy a new motor if they're basically the same. or what motor do they usually allow in the GT1 and 2 or 3?
BTW those who are using the xenon aluminum motor guard, the edges where the wires can be put in is ,its a knife edge, it strip the wires of my speedo so I had to tape the edges. Just want to LYK.

To add to the conundrum that is "Is there a Tamiya CF Chassis?", I just got the TA05 CF Battery holder.. on the package, it lists that it's for the "TA-05 Bathtub Chassis".

So, is this implying there's a Non-bathtub chassis somewhere?

*Hopefully* they put that on the package as usually the CF chassis require the batts to be taped in and dont use the battery holders.... Im holding out for the Tamiya CF chassis.... but ive decided ill run my 415 for now instead. I love the 05, but id prefer to wait for the CF chassis and top deck, instead of finding a good setup twice..... Plus i just want to play with the 415

hey cheehtae.. if you are in the US, you will not be allowed to use those motors. the TZ and RZ are 23T "super stock" motors. GT2 in the US uses 27T stock motors. check out the tamiyausa site for more rules.

the TZ is a torque based 23T, while the RZ is more RPM based.

GT1 - 19T - fixed timing ROAR legal
GT2 - 27T - fixed timing ROAR legal
GT3 - silver can mabuchi

I just hope that if they do release a plate chassis, that it doesn't come in place of the cabon tub chassis. I think theres enough room for both on Tamiya's loooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnngggggggggggggggg parts list.

Is there any hint from Tamiya that TCS legal upper deck is forthcoming?

I wish Tamiya would speed up the release of some of these parts we NEED.(or better yet.... just put a top deck for the 05 IN THE KIT! even if its plastic!)

On the 415, Tamiya still hasnt released a front ball differential, why, same reason i think they are slow to release the top deck and cf chassis kit for the 05. They seem to be looking at the european market, which is prodominantly racing asphalt and rubber, and have forgotten about the high grip of western carpet racing to some extent. On the Tamiya USA site, about the ball diff for the 415, they even mention what part numbers u need from Yokomo to make a ball diff for your 415!!! Not good when you need to buy other manufacturers parts to get your car to work better...... Maybe all TA05 owners running carpet with foams should email Tamiya in Japan explaining how we all want a stiffer chassis, or just the top deck at the very least. Personally, i prefer to keep my Tamiya's all Tamiya, so that if i decide to run TCS, i dont have to worry about what parts i have to take off as they're not Tamiya parts.
