Yeah keep me posted, interested in seeing it. I figured it was a matter of shortening the steering posts to get the correct angle. I'm sure it's an easy fix. Some of us are just anal about design things, but it may just work.
I really think there is room to improve on all the current steering racks to adjust the ackerman. I really wish Xray would do something like their older single post version where you could adjust the ackerman with a single screw. I thought it was an evolutionary design. The single post had it's issues, but it was so easy to adjust that it actually messed with ackerman settings. lol I'm sure it has a lot to do with production costs, but I'm always game for a upgrade as an option part. A new steering rack that is lowered with the ability to adjust it with a single screw would make Xray stick out from a over saturated TC market right now. The current design seems, well, kinda rushed, it works, but innovation and attention to detail seems a bit lacking.
I would love to see someone make sell some steering mod posts and pivot toe blocks. I wonder when we will see the optional motor mount. I read on Xray forums, Martin said they have something new planned never seen in a motor mount. Something that's very adjustable. Nice, can't wait to see it.

About a week ago I was thinking that the steering rack should be mounted on top of the steering arms. This would raise the cross-member and you would be able to use less shims at the steering knuckle and on top of the cross-member. This would allow the steering to move further and the cross-member to be supported versus hanging from steering arms.
I started taking apart the steering on my T3 11 to see what I could come up with. I flipped the steering post and mounted it upside down with a 1.5mm shim between the post and chassis. I flipped the steering arms and mounted the cross-member that I previously drilled and tapped a hole between the Ackerman mounts.*
The steering arms barely clear the belt and the belt slightly rubs the right side steering arm. With some minor tweaking this could be done. The drag link clears the top deck too. I'm currently having a friend mill/lathe some old posts to try this on the T4.*
I'm hoping the steering posts on the T4 have a wider stance then the T3 and that will make the belt clear the right side and with some shimming of the post it will clear the belt. I will let you guys know how it works out when I get my T4.

you have to be careful in your servo selection, for example a Savox 1257TG will cause the steering post/arms/bellcranks/whatever to bind because its too tall. Pictures is a low profile 1251MG with a lower servo height
