Depends on track size, spur, boost etc.

my local hobby shop has the Spec R versions in stock... you think they are worth it since it looks identical to the RSD ones?

These work great. Just make sure the clip is orientated so that when the CVD is rotating forward it doesn't catch on the unhooked end resulting in a bent clip and lost pin. If you are really worried it is worth putting some 10mm heat shrink over the whole assembly to avoid losing pins altogether.

Note: the Spec-R v2 require the different sized inner bearing (each driveshaft includes one bearing).

The best part is they are $42.99 a pair instead of $49.99 each.

I chose the narrow version because I like to play with track width to improve steering with track conditions

I'm interested in these, but the phrase "virtually identical dimensionally " means they are not identical. Anyone know what the variance is on these? Is the length at least the same?

Spec-r units are 51mm, RSD offers that as well.

So the wide units listed are actually shorter than the Xrays?

I don't know what that means.

Spec-r sells a 51mm set.
RSD has a 52mm and 51mm set.

Xray sells 50 and 52.

I meant the RSD wide set is shorter than the Xray wide set. Sorry for the confusion.

Virtually identical means pretty much the same dimensions, however they have retaining clips so some areas around the clip are a bit larger in diameter. What this means is the wide axle are the same as 52mm ECSs. Personally I run the narrow axle ones. With the narrow axle, the entire coupling is moved outwards 1mm which makes the axles more efficient under lock than the standard width axles. However the narrow axle use the 5x10x3 bearings are not as durable.
