Those cars are so different that talking about changing springs on a 14 to make it feel like a 16 is almost irrelevant.

Starting with the kit springs (silver) is not a bad starting point on medium grip carpet.

We actually mostly use the silvers on medium grip carpet.

I drove my buddies '15 on and off and was pretty indifferent about it. Then I drove his new '16 and loved it so much I had one of my own within a few weeks.

Brian, you're welcome to drive mine next time you're in Fort Wayne if you want to check it out.

Thanks! I may take you up on that if I make it down anytime soon. I'd get the '16 conversion kit, but it's $350 w/o an aluminum chassis...getting close to just buying a new kit at that price. Yokomo, if you're listening, offer one with the aluminum plate too.

I can do things with the '16 set-up to increase corner speed and steering response that would cause the '15 to flip. The center of gravity change is HUGE and yields a very comfortable, fast car. On the Black Carpet it is not even comparable. On asphalt we will wait and see. I'll have mine at Leisure Hours at the first chance.

Rodney Racer, how did you come up with those numbers? I have input the values in a spring calculator and the numbers don't match yours. Did you subtract 2 coils from the Yokomo number to get the values you came up with?

The theoretical value for a spring with 1.4mm wire, OD of 16.8mm and free length of 20.5mm is around 2.6. This actually matches the value of the XRAY 2.6 which is wound the same way (I guess similar as it is 20.5mm instaead of 20mm ) as a black spring.

Does anyone know what ball stud Ronald Volker would use most of the time on his inner camber links?

Looking at most of the pictures of his car from major events it looks like he is using the shorter neck versions maybe ZC-206SHS??

Any help would be great ;-)
