back
back to the Yok BD
Martin or whoever gets to answer first.
quick question.
what's the main difference between the Rayspeed springs vs old Pro spring to new Pro springs.
I was getting ready to order a full set of springs and wanted to buy the right type.
mostly racing rubber 13.5.
Thank to everyone for keeping this thread alive.

Rayspeed springs and new pro springs are longer. Around 25mm long.
Now I beleive that the longer springs make the car feel a little "smoother", less "snappy", hard to define but just one of those things.
To get the correct ride height on some cars using the long springs you need the Rayspeed offset bottoms also.

carpet:
Hpi Pink front / silver rear
at very very high bite carpet use HPI gold front
asphalt/concrete:
Hpi pink/silver or Yokomo pro series pink/blue (pink front blue rear)
so you need a total of 5 springs

thanks
thanks for the reply.
guess I have a few spring to get.
I've been running
Rayspeed green and yellows.
tried the old Pro light greens and yes the car felt a bit too snappy, probably just too stiff.

I been using the Xray 008 springs......2.8f and 2.6r Tamiya 40wt or I would go as low as 2.4f and 2.2r. The transition is wonderful and car is very stable.....But I keep the shocks kicking out to.

yes xray springs are very easy to drive but on almost all tracks i have tested them either hpi or yokomo springs where faster

I'm out to do some testing between the yok aluminum universals vs yok cvds that come with steele axle and aluminum bone...
this will be done with 10.5 brushless motor at my home track Bending Corner Raceway.... I want to see which one will give a smoother turn at full lock.
