Yup thats what they were! He also ran 400/350 oil (f/r), gold/silver roll bars and std front arms. Also with his modified steering rack and steering blocks, along with hpi c-hubs to gain more lock.

My car was awesome on Saturday running in the heat as the car was very aggresive but fast, but on the sunday when the grip was washed away (gay rain ) it wasn't quite there

Quick vid of it here:

Can you please post a pic ot Graingers steering hub and rack mod.

Guys,

I'm just back from the track.

My mate runs a std BD and also a Grainger edition.....he has sheared 5 or 6 driveshafts when running a spool with both cars with a checkpoiint 7x1 motor.

I have seen it happen and he doesnt hit anything, at full revs on the straight the driveshafts just fail.....does anyone have any ideas as he's pretty fed up

Cheers.

I didn't take any pics, I thought the nosying was rude enough!!!
You can see the steering blocks on the pic of his car on this page: http://www.cmldistribution.co.uk/new...iew=0000000187

Basically, a hole has been drilled right in front of the std holes on the steering blocks, and the the special steering rack is further forward sot hat when the links are in this position, they are perfectly parellel, i.e at 90* to the chassis. I was told this is to achieve more lock. The hpi c-hubs seemed a straight fit too me

What part of the shaft is breaking? Yokomo had a problem with the stock pin in the universals being a little too short and we come loose and would give the appearance that it broke. I used a longer pin (the one from the Barracuda) and never had that problem again. Others have had the same issue and fixed it with a longer pin.

Simple question, are they std driveshafts? If they are, then the answer is good luck trying to stop it with a 7x1!

Make shure u use thread lock on the grubscrew cos 1'ce it come loose the pin will slip and thats the end of your driveshaft
u need 2 keep on cheaking them after evry run or 2

is he really shearing the Dog Bone? or the Pin?? If its the pin you can replace this with a piece of DRILL BLANK rod #53 in size just cut to size and it won't break the pin again

Get the TiR CVDs. They are great, and will last. In a year we have only broke 1 axle (a hard hit into a board). The CVDs are showing very little wear.

in board toe is the toe block
out board toe is the hubs
I can't remember which way round this is but I think outboard toe handles bumps better......plz correct me if its the other way round!

3 + 0 = stable steering, doesn't really like bumps
2.5 + 0.5 = best of the bunch really, very good steering, handles bumps pretty well, best of the bunch
2+1 = never tried this but it apparently gives lots of steering and likes bumps.

The 2nd choice is the best all rounder, on a perfectly flat, flowing track 3+0 is a safe bet
