so
Fdue to lateral G= mass*lat_a*cg_height/trackwidth
to get it into mass units do F/gravity

to get the total weight on the outside wheel you would start like this:
sumM_insidewheel=0=mass*lat_a*cg_height - Fouterwheel*trackwidth + mass*gravity*0.5wheelbase
and bring out the Fouterwheel again.

and finding the inside wheelload would be sumF_vertical=0=Foutside+Finside-mass*gravity
Finside=mass*gravity-Foutside

hope that makes it a bit clearer

to get these kind of things easier may i also advise either of these books
-competition car suspension by allan staniforth (simplified and easy to read)
-race car vehicle dynamics by milliken&milliken (more complicated but the best book though not in SI-units)
-fundamentals of vehicle dynamics by thomas gillespie (complete basics)
My basic issue is now resolved, that is, the derivation of :
-- Fdue to lateral G= mass*lat_a*cg_height/trackwidth

I also did some google searches to get a different perspective on things (some have diagrams which always helps).

I will look into your references as well.

All good bedtime reading.
Thanks

Hello man, you must look into GEARCHART.COM ... i did a calculation that shows your alternatives on the FDR you need, but you can go to gearchart.com and try another combinations :

46 pinion and 100 spur(64 pitch) that gives you 4.71 ratio and 42.68 rolloutgood combo for me

i thought the ratio for the cyclone WCE in the manual is 2.4375?
isn't it large pulley divided by small pulley?
39/16=2.4375

I've heard rumors of a new kit--True??
Was gonna redo mine for this year but if there is a new kit in the works--
Parts are a pita to get and if I have to wait for parts I might spring for a new car if it's true.

I am new to the Cyclone TC and for cost reasons, I want to run 48p spurs and pinions.

I want to run a 17.5 and a 13.5 motor only. What Spur/pinion range is recommended???

have u got the brushless motor mount ?

if not then the biggest 48dp spur u will fit is a 78-80 and as for pinions for that i say from 19-35 , obviously it depends on what track your running on , get them all and your ready for anything :P

Hi Korey & Co,

(1) My setup is similar to Hara TITC 2009 and has morphed a bit using the Asphalt Base Setup by Phil Chambers (cut top and rear decks, stood up rear shock, & more recently the 3.5deg rear toe). The primary changes were made to fix a problem with the rear end breaking loose. The outdoor asphalt track is quite large, with an 80m front straight (photo attached).

(2) At my latest race meet, one of the other drivers marshalling (has an xray or two, as does most other drivers for that matter) indicated that my chassis was rolling a lot in the rear. This got me to thinking, as the underside, outside edges of my chassis have been scrapped & worn quite a bit (lots of roll?).

(3) Are other drivers (Team Drivers) who are running on asphalt, having the same wear on the underside, outside edges of the chassis ??

Thanks in advance

Default Cyclone

Saturday and sunday I go my first race with the Cyclone TC, after assembling it last week.
First impressions - handles really great! I was amazed how well this thing drives, I was able to run preety consistent laps so I am pleased.
The back differential , hard to setup! My las car was xray t2 2009 and to thighten you cound do it also on the track. for the cyclone you have to do alot more work. Also for the suspension , the T2 was easier to change, although the Cyclone's shocks are better.

What uppgrades to you recommand ? I am running novak gtb with novak 13.5 engine, but I am getting a LRP 13.5 and in the future maybe an sxx , with LRP 5300 40c packs.

Are these usefull ? - #67699 - DCJ Drive Shaft Set (1pcs) Double Cardan Joint Drive Shaft for Cyclone TC, Cyclone S

Thanks
