Is this for real or another Trinity trick. Get some 3700 change the wrap, change Mah and sell them?

This is either a Intellect cell (like LRP) or a GP3700...

No ground breaking innovation here imho ;-)

So many people flip out when a new product is announced and they see the full retail prices. They will be available for much less than $100.

Trinity sets the retail price for its handwound mods at $95. Do they ever sell for that? No.

I'm sure these are just a different shrink, simular to the old zebra shrink wrap, and not a cell that is exclusive to Trinity, unless they're Sanyos.

I wonder if this is even for real, look at the pic, that's not a battery, just what could be a label for one.

This is Trinity reacting to us bringing in the IB3600. They don't even have a picture of a cell.

I've admitted I'm a pessimest, but seems almost like the old "Battery of the Week" wars have heated up again. But then again we've been lucky that the 3300's have been the cell of choice for what...almost 3-4 years now? I guess we're due for this to be happening anyways.

There will not be a new cell coming out that will obsolete the current cells. The cell technology is pretty much maxed except for the capacity which will keep getting better.

The majority of the races going on are not runtime oriented so extra capacity doesn't mean much.

Lets take the IB3600 vs GP3300. I feel the IB is real good and fast but it won't do much faster times than the GP3300.

The GP3700 vs GP3300 is a perfect example. At the Novak race Trinity had GP3700 cells in the 3300 shrink and we used GP3300 and Ralph Burch was able to win the mod class using 3300s. SO even in mod the difference isn't that much.

By having competition between cell manufacturers the racers will win because the prices will stay lower. GP has been increasing the price of their cell and now that IB has stepped in it will force GP to keep its price in check.

Are you sure the Trinity guys had 3700's in 3300 wrap? That's a fairly inflammatory statement Danny. I'm not arguing, I'm just asking.

Danny, you're saying that happened at this year's or last years Novak Race?

The thing that some people may not realize though is that while they may not use all the runtime, you need to look at the voltage throughout the entire discharge curve. For example, 2 packs, one labeled 1.180 @ 400 and another with 1.184 @ 385. While the 1.184 may look like the better pack, the 1.180 may have a higher average voltage over a 5 minute curve (I don't know if I explained that well or not). While I haven't really looked at them yet, I think this is the theory behind the Real Time packs from Reedy.

So while the cells with more than 3300MAH may not have voltage on the labels that looks as good as the current GP's, the "usuable" voltage could potentially be higher.
