Very sad and an unfortunate loss for the RC community. I found him to be a lot of fun to work with and extremely intelligent with physics, equations, and coding when working with him on the shock dyno and modeling.

Very sad indeed.
RC3 is a software I still use regularly, even on sabbatical from the track. Big loss to the community.

So sad to hear about the news from him! RIP

I just recently entered the hobby and his videos are very special and give a lot of information.

Sadly, i didnt manage to download the software before the site went offline. Does anyone have any links where i can download de software from?

Bob did post the following on his Facebook page a few months ago... not sure which option is viable however.

However this is a short term solution since I will need to shut down the website and FB soon.
Options as I see it are.
1. Upload RC3 to GitHub. I believe this should work as a installer and would also make the software open source.
2. Some brave soul takes over development and distribution. I will provide all the files.
3. Other suggestions welcomed.

#1 is the best to ensure there is a legacy of the work

Unless he's already done #1 or #2, they're no longer viable.

How does one upload it to GitHub?
I am good friends with his son and possibly he could up-load it to GitHub.

Create an account, create a git repository, push to the repository. GitHub should have tutorials on how to do that. Though if you're not a developer, the tools can be a bit intimidating. If they have trouble, send me a PM and I can upload it under my account.

That would be so helpful to the whole community!

We can also make an index o link each specific part of the software and tunning options with his youtube channel. There is a lot of gold there.

I contacted his son and he is trying to get the website uploaded again for us to access.

That would be amazing! What Bob created was special on a level not achieved by many. The man was a genius and shared that genius with everyone. It breaks my heart that his work stopped with him, it's too good to not live on.

So sad to read all this, RIP BobW
I hope your legacy will continue!

So sad

Hello,

so sad to read this news. RIP Bob.

I had contact to Bob some time ago trying to use his software for my large scale RC cars (scale 1:5). But I never found the time to get it working. Now I also have a Mugen MTC2R (scale 1:10) and wanted to buy RC Crew Chief to use it for my Mugen. And now it is no longer available. :-(

Can somebody send me the last free version of the software or a link where I can download it? That would be great and very helpful for me.

Many thanks in advance.

Frank
