No the face plate goes right over your current one. But I have found that the APS buttons get a little bit softer over time and use. I use mine constantly while tuning motors so my buttons are starting to get softer. I think you should be happy that they are still tight, means they have plenty of life left in them. I pain in the finger is much less than a pain in your wallet. IMHO
LOL
Hope this helps,

I have just posted an official R/C Tech Review of the APS Dyno Charge:
http://www.rctech.net/reviews/review...e_futureal.php

I've also made this the "official" thread for the charger and review, so if you have any feedback about the review, post it here.

Enjoy!

Thanks Shane,
that was well worded and very usefull to those who are looking into this charger/Dyno. One thing though. The temp probe has one more feature you might have overlooked. It doubles as a false peak detector, it won't let the charge end until the tempeture gets up to it so if you Dead-short or tray your cells the night before (like most matchers suggest) the temp probe is invaluable because of the likeliness of false peaks when using the dead short and tray metheds.
Other than that....A+ on the review.
That and Tres Leonard is makign face plates for it already...LOL
Just a cheesy plug...LOL
Thanks again,
Stephen <><

Good point, I made a quick fix to include that information.

Glad you enjoyed it!

that was a great write up
i think it is more than a great motor break-in tool though.
even though it is not a dyno. it is a great motor tuning tool
for those people that are learning how to get ther motors faster.

what is/are a "good" setting for 3 stage charging for 3300 maH 1.171-1.75's pro-match GP's.....

I will use this for 19turn touring...

hope you'll can help!!!!!:) :) :)

Toodeep 03-14-2005 05:18 PM

I've had mine for over a month and I think its a great little charger. At my club there are at least 10 guys using them. My new GP 3300's get a charge of about 4000mAh. You'll love playing with the motor features. The buttoms DO loosen up after a bit of use, its nothing to worry about. ;)

I'm one of those dudes with Toodeep running this charger. The stats on this charge have compared VERY favourably to VERY expensive charger like GFX at 1/2 the price.
I have not been using the temperature cutoff as I am not sure what temp I should shoot for on 3300.
My newer packs(best example) consistently take above 3300 and have punch to spare.
I am developing knowledge on motor tuning(slowly) and this tool has acclerated the learning curve.
The button were tough, but a good workout has them working better and better every night.

You sneaky devil Kevin. I wonder if that new CF chassis will be stiffer. The concerns I have heard about TC4 is that is not as stiff as the TC3. Maybe this is the reason people have had so much trouble tuning this one. Should lighten the car too I think. Michael Wu weighed his TC4 WEd night. 1600G. Go on a diet!!!
Even my antique tank Ta04 Pro weighs less at 1532G

Right now I have the complete graphite kit, my car wieghts just under 1500g(about 50g more than steve's 415ms)without the body...not too bad. I've heard I'll lose about another 50g's going to the bmi , but like u said it'll be much stiffer :D . Trouble tuning???................I never learned how, maybe thats why i'm so fast with it
