Got tires ??
I just ordered my Sakura Advance S. There was a thread in here that mentioned that the screws were a much higher quality than in past kits. Should I still use an M3x .50 tap where a screw is used on the car?
Sorry to bother you again, but you and Nerobro are very knowledgeable about these 3Racing kits.
Thanks,
Ralph

One thing I will definitely start doing is using chassis protectors. I’ve had more then a few screw head scraped down to point of having to drill them out.
It’s never a bother. I’m no expert. But I’ll try to answer if can.
Much appreciated Billy.

One trick I did learn during my last build was the use of chapstick on the threads. When screwing into plastic, there’s heat as it cuts into the plastic. One a screw is a few turns in. Back it out. And a little chapstick on the threads. I didn’t learn this till after damaging the ballcups. It did seem to make things smoother.
I will give that a try.

Can someone summarize the best way to break in the PF Tires for carpet racing?
Thanks!

Is it time to start talking about increasing the max mah rating on the packs? At this point, new 6000mah packs are so light, I am running out of places to put weight! It would be nice to have useful weight instead of just dragging around extra lead. The new 8xxx packs aren't much more expensive then the 6000 packs but would help balance out the car without so much lead/tungsten/carpet fuzz.
Is there any good reason not to move to an open battery capacity rule?

Yep. Leave the VTA class alone. 5000-5500mah is just fine.

That is too bad. Do you have tech inspections?

I have no issues with "house" rules, so long as everyone can use them.
