I just won the Scale Nationals with one. Seemed like it liked more timing (~50) and a smaller pinion.

Thanks for the info. I haven't touched the timing, it's at ~46/47 from the factor and I started with 3.62 (53/96) that I had on my Motiv and worked my way down one tooth per run today to end up at 3.92 (49/96) and the motor was still warmer than I like, but getting cooler, and lap times were improving. I couldn't go any lower on the pinion as 49 tooth was the smallest I had on me.

Should've asked. I had smaller pinions. Congrats on the podium.

BTW, I really like that paint job you did on your Mustang. Looks sharp.

Troy set up my v2 Fantom at the Birds, This was on a larger carpet track, think it's at 48 deg, and FDR is around 3.5-3.6 with a 88 spur. although this was on a TC I think it would be applicable to a VTA.

Imo...no. Rob would need to officially answer that. But I've found some of the 1804x to have lower stator IR than what ROAR allows...and with 12.5 rotors. Plus it's given a part number on the ROAR list and 1804x isn't on there...just 1804. Also be aware that Trinity makes about 5 different 25.5 motors. So make sure you check before you buy if you are following usvta rules
