This is NOT a complaint. Why the move to the larger mAH battery? I've felt the weight thing coming on for a while but not the battery

5000mah packs are getting harder to find and also with going to 6000mah racers can then use the pack in other classes like GT or 17.5 etc and not have a pack just for VTA.

Let us know how that goes... and I'm not being sarcastic. I don't run one, but I know guys who do. It would be nice to know what to tell them they'll need to do.

I'm at 1552 with 20g added weight. Was running the Highest DT2100 which is full-size and aluminum case. Going to get a Savox 1251, switch to 14awg wire, and see where that gets me.

If it helps, the Protoform Javelin is 20-30g lighter than the HPI camaro depending on your paint work and minimal shoo goo. IF you can still find them, the FT aluminum screw kit can save nearly 10g over the steel kit screws.

Shorty battery should save a sizeable chunk of the 100g needed.

Remove lead weights, -20g. Change Highest DT2100 to Savox 1251, -30g. Protoform Javelin, -25g. Only another 25g to go!

Edit: Shorty battery gets us there.

Son of Edit: Are there any 6000mAh shorties?

Not a complaint from me, but I bet Trinity isn't happy as they released one of their white carbon hi voltage packs as a "5000MAH VTA pack" - I thought it was a new release, but it appears it may have been 9 months ago and I didn't notice.

Why has it not been a rule for no current tc chassis allowed in the usvta class or at least make a 2 year clause? Its a little ridiculous that some people are runnin a chassis that can be what 2 full rtr cars can be built for!

I'm not disappointed but I am surprised. Seems there was a lot of discussion a while back about Stock TC being too fast, and now we have VTA going lighter/faster.

Hmm,

At least two sets (three if you want to include Canada) of rules for VTA depending on the governing body hosting a VTA event.

Just like work, making things more complex.

Personally I like the changes; however, it would have been GREAT to get some buy in from ROAR.
