If they are good then I'll be bringing them in and will have them at a great price for USVTA. These will be based on the same chemistry that is used in the big batteries so performance and longevity should be great. Not to mention that I'll have them at a great price too! And once they are on the way I'll offer a special on here for all the USVTA guys too.

If anyone has any questions you can PM me here or email me at [email protected]

Just dropping off a few pics from our opener here in NJ....

We had 13 USVTA cars along with 6 Nitro VTA cars....

Running the track backwards for the main....We actually flip a coin (best two outta three) to determine the direction of the main....

We actually have a lot more USVTA's but you know not everyone can make every race, but it was still a great day for USVTA.

Results can be found here...

Wow! 13 USVTA's on a single race day and that's not even all of them. I'm envious . Here in Dallas we are experiencing a "VTA drought". Only 1 of the last 4 club race days has had enough VTA's show up to make a class. It takes 3 cars to make a class. So I am currently experiencing VTA withdrawal symptoms.

Yeah, I can think of 6-8 off the top of my head that couldn't make it....This was a non points race, so maybe they are saving their stuff for the first point race in two weeks....

We're pretty lucky too.
We normally have 13 or 14 every week, sometimes more.
We race onroad on Wednesday evening, so stop by whenever you're in Omaha!

I have a few packs coming in this week for Batman to do some testing on. Once we decide on which pack performs the best and holds up the best it should only be a couple of weeks and I'll have them in stock!

Thanks

Start with a good rubber tire setup for your car. Sometimes going a little stiff spring setup, and a little wider can also help on carpet. The opposite holds true for asphalt.

It's a slow day at work... Is there any VTA-related news or big VTA races to talk about?

How about that new SP Reventon ESC? Has anybody seen one in person yet?
.

All - New to VTA. Thinking about getting the Novak motor/esc combo, stock #3331. Is this a good setup. Is this VTA "legal"? Thoughts or suggestions. Thanks -

If Novak is promoting it as VTA then most likely it is legal. The motor is definitely legal; I'm not sure about the esc in that combo only because it doesn't mention what esc it comes with.

Stan, that is an excellent choice. The Novak combo he is referring to comes with the new Club ESC (#1852) which was added to the USVTA list on April 4, 2012.

They have discontinued the Havok Sport series from the pricelist I just got from Novak. The 3331 combo called “club spec” is a less expensive version of the edge speed control with the 25.5 SS motor for $120 on the Novak site. The 3339 combo is the edge speed control with the ballistic 25.5 motor for $160 on the Novak site. The main difference I noticed is in the “on” resistance which is basically the quality and efficiency of the mosfets. Mosfets are which actually controls the speed that the car runs. Quality always costs. The club spec has a on resistance of .00110 if I remember the chart correctly the edge is .00057 or about twice as efficient, and for reference the GTB2 and Kinetic (Novak’s Top of the line) are .00040 on resistance. This means more efficiency which equates to less battery used and less heat buildup in the speed control. Heat lessens efficiency which over a long 20 minute main could make some differences. But as you don’t usually build up much heat in VTA this is not a problem. Now I can‘t say for the club spec but I know the Edge is 1s capable which makes it a great all around speed control which is why I ordered them for my track Thunder RC Raceway.
