I don't know that you deserve the hard time that I gave you, but it's just so hard to resist.

That video posted from the icc race showed an HPI Vintage class running slicks and 17.5 and it looked like some of them were having trouble with traction in the corners. I think the racing legal tires are actually the best for most circumstances.

Why do I HAVE to use a 25.5 for VTA? I want to run a 10.5 and I want to run foam tires! I would also like to run a 69 VW bus body as it is period correct. I also run brush bars on the front to move off those pesky slow cars.

Thanks! I took some time off, though not entirely of my choosing. Work became regularly 12 hrs and 7 days for about 8 months and then I moved to Michigan last summer. Getting back feels good!

I am going to ask the age old dumb question as I am thinking about this class. Any particular car ie chassis better to start off with than another? ones to avoid?

there are no dumb questions...we are all here to help and give an opinion...

as noted before any chassis will work....but chose one that you will have parts and support for....

I like the TC3/4 as the best starting point or advanced racer for that matter

great, thanks for the info. looks like a fun class, been an off road junkie for years. love dirt oval and looking to diversify some. I like the idea of realism, controlled tires, slower speeds as compared to other on road classes.....

With the introduction of the new TC6.2 there are lots of used TC6's for sale for very good prices. I really like my TC6.1 VTA car. Very easy to setup and find part support for. The Xray cars are popular with our group also.

I always wanted to try an xray car and some deals came up for the Xray T3 2012 car so I got some. Work really well for VTA. Quite happy with them.

VBC, XRAY, and AE are the popular brands where I race.
Part support at the track and setup help from the other veteran racers are the two main factors in deciding what car to buy probably.

Gotta' love something that is damn near bullet-proof. Xray for the win in that department.

Waiting for Cain's spare T3'12 to arrive. Parts interchange back to the T2 and forward to the T4 make it a great choice. My first one is set up for USGT. But, I still have the TC3s just in case.
