USVTA: yes

ROAR VTA: no

Depends on which rules your track follows.

- If the track/event is using USVTA Rules (http://www.usvintagetransam.com/rules/index.html), then you are only allowed to use Novak 25.5 motors. Also you can only use approved speed controls from the USVTA rules.

- If the track/event is using ROAR VTA rules, then you can use any ROAR legal 25.5 motor. Also you can use any ROAR legal speed control in "blinky" mode (no timing advance)

- If the track/event is using Outlaw VTA rules, please refer to rules specific to that track/event.

----------

Note: Fully USVTA legal cars do well at ROAR events (and often win the VTA class).

Has anyone tried the Serpent S411 Sport TC in VTA? Any glaring weak parts that should be upgraded right away?

My cars should sell for a whole lot more then. LOL :-)

Who wants to buy a Corally PHI that placed in the 2011 Southern Nats, a HB TCX that placed in the 2012 Southern Nats and a RGT that placed in the 2013 Southern Nats. :-)

i have an old tc3 that im redoing. I would like to try out the on road racing scene for usvta. The car already has a novok havok esc and i will get a 25.5 novak motor. im going to do a body, will the 200mm look right on the car in regards to hanging over the wheels too much? Or will the vta rules of 26mm wide 0 offset and 31mm wide rears with 6mm offset fix this? I'm liking the 68 camaro and 71 trans am body. also my car has some alumn upgrades, this is still legal right?

Perfectly legal. The 26/31 rim tire combo fills out the wheel well nicely on all of the approved bodies.

For some bodies, (HPI 70 Boss for example) you will have to cut back the foam bumper to get a good fit/lineup of the wheel wells.

I would recommend for the first body the 68' Camaro, all one piece construction, lower roof line and heavier lexan.

+1

The HPI '68 is tough. I always put a thin layer of shoe goo in the nose, helps it take the beating without cracking as fast, and it will get beat on!
