I have a front. suspension question and this seems like the logical place to ask
I am running the Exotek front on my 104v2. I have my camber set to where I like it...but am looking for some more high speed (sweeper) steering. I have tried softer springs.. but this effected the car too much in other parts of the track. Right now I am estimating about 6 deg. Of caster (using a camber gauge). Would tilting the kingpins back ( more ) help in this situation?

side springs are exotek kit springs , with 1 mm spacer under front ball mounts
side dampers have 20k in them ( I have tried 7, 20, 30, 50 , 75 K 20 seems to work the best)
rear diff is Tamiya f104 with a 103 bearing
ride height is 4 mm all the way around .
Car has a ton of steering and traction roll is not a problem . my main complaint is the rear end " fish tails " if you punch it and if you punch it to early out of a high speed turn it will almost spin 180
I understand the Pardus tires are a different animal which honestly we don't have much experience with which is maybe why Ricks set-ups are almost opposite but when running Shimizu-
Need to soften the rear pod movement with a softer spring. This will let the rear pod 'spool up' almost like softer sedan arms when getting on power.

Tamiya soft red (florescent) spring. Not the regular red spring. Aaron and I both use pretty soft top springs and we have tons of on power grip on exit.
20-25 wt oil and 3 hole piston= less pack in the shock with lighter oils for more pod movement.

Let us know how it goes.

A little more caster will increase steering at high speed. More caster creates more camber as the wheel is turned. Or you can just try a touch more camber.

You're correct about the Pardus behaving differently. I had to throw most of my standard set up theory out the window when I got the car to work on them.

Thanks for the ideas , but right now everything is on hold while I wait for a new rear Bulk head , I believe Brad from F1RCLab sent you a pic of a seriously bent one , it was mine ! So as soon as I get back to straight I will figure this thing out .

Hey guys,
Is it possible to build an F104 purely from Exotek parts (I like the look of the Exotek F1R2 pro conversion kit) or would you still need a F104 donor kit?

Cheers
Simon

As far as i can see all you need from f104 is the front lower suspension arm and front uprights. Screws, nuts, and the main shock can be all purchased separately also.

Diff, hub, axle, bearings...

Hi, At the bottom of the F1R2 product page is a list if you want to build your car without a donor
