The F1R3 continues to run great. We had the Full Throttle race on August 13-14 on our new CRC black carpet. The car worked flawlessly but driver was a little late figuring out 25.5 correct gearing and running the wrong front tire. However, by the last A-Main I was able to set the fastest lap and fastest run of the day. Eventually I finished up 2nd but the car was the best one on the track by the end of the day

What tire combo is working for you on the new carpet? I've been running the 571/575 Pits on my F1R3 w/ IFS.

I used the 571/575's(no sidewall glue on fronts) as well with my F1R3 w/IFS. I tried the yokomo softs up front but i was having traction rolling issues with them. However, I don't have the new exotek steering upgrade, still the old system.

This weekend on the new carpet, I could go up to 75% sauce on the fronts. More than that and I was on the verge of traction rolling. That is with CA on the sidewalls.

Thanks for the feedback!

20 to 30 mins sauce, full sauce on rears and no more than 50% sauce on fronts

What parts are needed to turn my TRF101 front into IFS?

I don't believe the Exotek IFS will work with the TRF101, not 100% sure though, I think you must have an F104/F103. But you also have to have the Exotek F1R3 or R2 conversion, as the stock F104 chassis is too narrow for the droop screws. You must also use the Exotek adjustable upper arm set for the IFS setup, as well as the Exotek F104 servo mount.

Hope this helps!

Appreciate you guys making the correction!

Will those items also work for the TRF102?? Thanks.
And I'm guessing that the TRF101/102 chassis is wide enough for the droop screws. . .??

It should work with any car that has a mounting pattern for the F104 front end. The servo mount comes with nuts to widen the base of the droop screws so they work with narrower chassis. Might need Mike to confirm my first sentence, but I can't think of any situation where that wouldn't be the case.

No problem

Yes, we included simple hardware fix to allow droop screws for the narrow Tamiya chassis.

Cool, thanks for the clarification guys. I need to do this on both my TRF101 & 102.

Got the HPI mirco Exotek chassis and the Exotek Exo6 for my TB Evo6, and they are both HIGH quality upgrades!

Again, thanks for clearing that up - I thought you had to do the F1R3 chassis conversion to get the IFS to work. . . Nice to know - should've asked.

Dose the F1 15 Protoform body fit on the F1R3 chassis? I'm making the switch over to carpet for the winter and I was wondering what body and wings will work.

I'm currently running the F1R2 chassis outside on asphalt with a slim 3000mah lipo. I know switching over to transverse battery layout and aluminum chassis for carpet will be the hot ticket. Thanks!
