RevTech 17.5 Bad Motor????
I have a RevTech 17.5 I am running in 17.5 Boosted. I am experiencing a major drop off in power one minute into my runs sometimes a little longer. I have used different batteries, tried different ESC setups. Has anyone ever experienced this before?? Can a bad motor act this way? Any help is appreciated.

It would help if we knew more. Are you running boosted? TC or 1/12th? Tekin? Settings?

I am running boosted. Running the speed passion speedo. .2 delay, 41 boost, 17 timing, 9 punch, 12 slope, 6 neutral. 1 tick of timing on the motor.
This setup is very close to setup used at the beat heat race. Although it could be speedo settings, but at 1 minute or so into a race? I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced this before. I am running 1/10 TC.

I've been running ReVtech in 17.5 boosted 12th scale and have found it to be great motor. Find you need to run can close to 0 line no more than 1/2 line and stretch out your rpm range when using Tekin boosted software.

Thank you! I am putting the D3 in.
As already mentioned, the Rev motors don't really tolerate ESC boost AT ALL, and are showing their shortcomings with mechanical timing as well. They have a bad habbit of acting just like yours, just before they let all the magic smoke out.
D3 for boosted, Rev for blinky.

These motors have a 30 degree sensor board in them,so if you set timing marks to 0 you will have 30 degree motor timing.This is not good for any motor if you add alot speedo timeing on.Your motor should run alot better if the motor timing is in the negative area ( say 3 marks past 0 towards negative )

They also have a known issue where the motor binds up due to to tight a tolerance, which gets worse when warms up.
Fix is to undo the can screws and put a drop of thread lock on ends and then tighten up only till snug (not fully tightened)

I purchased a new 17.5 RevTech last week and the sensor board was bad. Zero I mean no track time what so ever and it was bad. From what I hear I am not the only one with this issue.

At our track the Revtech 17.5 is a missle in the boosted class...fastest thing on the track.

At our track, the Revtech 17.5 WAS the fastest thing on the track. Right up until the point where it melted down at 168 degrees. I had about 30 minutes of run time on it when it gave out. I was very impressed with the performance. Great feel, very smooth and powerful, but POOOOOF.
