Before you do that ,widen your rear to full legal width first then go from their.6.75inches I believe its 171.4mm. Hey I'm in pit 33 how tall of a stool do I need(bar stool type)

Yea I wont go that route full mill(Ive cked the chasis out close and that would'nt be the way.It will be some process to get lowered but I will work on that later down the road I need to get alot of time on the car as it sits first) out I have other ways to get it done.
Your are right on the rear pod the holes are in a different position making it a shorterwheel base.

i'll widen the rear, i was thinking of raking the car to the rear, say 4mm ft and 3.5 or 3mm rear that should take away some off power steering. what do you think?? bar stool from walmart, folding metal around 10 bucks. i'm 6'2' and it is almost perfect

Rudedog- If you have to use 1/2 traction up front, I think that there is room for improvement. I never use 1/2; it's too scarry! When you say purple stuff in the side tubes, do you have the old Hyp tubes or the newer CRC copies of Hyp tubes? The difference will be the damper lube and the amount of springs that you can run. The older Hyp tubes need 50K or some Losi hydro fluid. In stock, I would not think that you need springs in the tubes at all. Also, I have mentioned it before, but take your camber gauge and lay it along side the car to eyeball your caster to your kingpin. The vertical blocks can twist, increasing caster making the car misserable to drive. With a shim front and back, you should be able to set the caster at 5 degrees. Then put a drop of thin CA at the base of the block to glue it to the chassis. They wont move anymore! Stock you should have 3 degrees. I have found that I don't use the 7 anymore, so I have already changed my drill jig to get 1,3, and 5. This should help out the stock cars.

BTW: I don't care for the Jaco purple greys any more, but that might be my home track. If you get a chance, try the Jaco pink/double pink. I thought that they were far more consistant then the purple/grey. Plus the rears wear at the same rate as the fronts. That's a plus!

yeah, im using modified crc tubes with no springs. trinity purple stuff in the tubes. i was going to check the caster tonight, i have not checked that because it looks like the blocks cant move, i'll double check that. when you say they twist, how do you mean left/right or what, i dont understand???? i was going to try alot less front paragon this weekend, that would probably help.

Eventhough the holes are drilled tightly so that there is hardly any chance that you can mount the blocks wrong, over time bumping into the wall can cause them to twist on the chassis. Just loosen the screws, reset the blocks, tighten and the glue. You shouldn't ever have to do that again.

If you shorten the piston and/or the ball cups on the CRC tubes, they will work just fine.

Yea I'm looking forword to the nats.Just that all the master guys wont be thier we ususlly have between 20and 30. We had almost 60 at cleveland.of course the age is 35 and not 40.

I've had several phone calls this past week from people wanting to know when I'll have the car built and running.They want to ck it out.If I get enough time on it I'll be running it at the regionals April 2.I finished 2nd last year.Hope to do better this yr.

Rudedog-I see that you are using Paragon. That will have a lot more grip then TQ products (which is what I am basing most of my info from). A little trick I did at 'birds to take some of the initial aggressive turn in out of the car, was to elevate the front end of the body like .030" to take some of the aero off of the front.

You might consider painting up a Speed 8. They seem to be a little more "freed up" then the 12. 8 out 10 bodies in stock at the 'birds were Speed 8's. The other 2 were CRC's.

So Rudedog, widden out the front end, 22's, upper hole, 3 caster, 1&1 camber, little to no toe out, 3.5mm r/h, 1/4" traction for 5 minutes (full rear), spring and oil at your discretion, 172mm wide in the rear, speed 8, hold onto your hat! I think that should be 95% close.

Holy Crap! I'm gone for lunch for an hour and there's a full page of info! Give me some time, I need to catch up..... wait up guys!

From just scanning on all the posts w/o actually reading in them in depth, tires saucing on the front has played a much more important for my racing than ever before. I used to sauce it 1/2 religiously regardless. Anyway, in order not to repeat what Brian already said, for stock saucing 1/2 front would probably be way too much and Paragon is a more intense sauce then TQ.

Brian, remember Toso at the 2-day? Chad told me he ran the same car and probably a very similar setup from 'birds at Ron's and he had to almost sauce the full front!!!!!
