Thumbs up SLAPMASTER - 1/12th MS2.2

What you are seeing is Brian Bodine's creation. I'll be taking this car out for its maiden race tomorrow.

Brian has been testing this car in the past year or more, and is now offering as a conversion kit. You can reach Brian at [email protected].

I'm sure Brian can elobarate a bit more when he get back from Mexico.

Enjoy the pics for now....

Dom

It looks like that chassis design with the rolled edges and concave design will eliminate chassis tweak.

Car looks awesome, got one question though, can you replace the front lower arms , they look like part of the chassis.

Default First race result

Well, just got back....

It wasn't a maiden win, but qualified 2nd behind the fastest local guy Chad Kramer (CEFX) in 19T, at one point on pace to break track record in my 2nd heat and TQ (.30 sec off track record), but touched a pipe hard late in the run. Won all 3 of my heats. End up 2nd behind Chad Kramer in the A-main.

Car was fast right out of the box, so much faster in the corners it's unbelievable. I hit pretty hard during practice getting used of the car and nothing broke! Only bend a titanium front body post screw.

A lot of local club guys are looking at this car hard cause it's so fast in the corners. Actually one of the club racer is now a proud owner of the 2nd MS2.2!!!

I have to say I'm not the fastest guy on 1/12th, usually mid or low A-main but with this car and being first time out, I actually TQ'ed the 2nd round and was on pace for track record, which was pretty amazing! All from Brian's box stock setup.

Answers to some of the ???

Street price is $175 that includes the chassis, front bumper, & frt arm mounts.

Conversion is for an ASC based car but must use side dampner tubes I think the IRS or Hyperdrive ones. The kit comes with a complete list of parts you need.

The front lower arms are part of the chassis and can't be replaced, there have been a couple of test cars running for over a year with no falures.

The front end has adjustable rollcenters which is unique for an ASC based car.

Dom your car looked great for the first time out, you still need a little bit more corner speed, I was still going through the corners better.

Thanks Chad! Yeah, I just need to drive a bit different lines to carry more speed thru the corners as well as setup of the car, but compare to my Hyperdrive days, it's already a big improvement.

Great running today, you are as usual unbelievebly fast and smooth, put on a clinic in the Main! Too bad you didn't get Wes at the end!

As far as I know, there is no complete kit available. The key thing to this car is the Hyperdrive rear top plate and its dampening tubes. Which those parts can be found from www.hyperdriveracing.com. Everything else comes from Associated.

Why the Hyperdrive tubes and not CRC? Beacuse per instructions, you'll have to use AE 1/12th front springs as tube springs and the metal CRC tubes won't allow you to put springs on there. According to Hyperdrive, they are simply Bolink tubes.

Here's a picture of the tube..the gunk in the spring is carpet fuss.
