Hey Guys,
Just a few quick questions, I got one of these babies, I am in love with it!
Ok here are my Q's:
1) Is it better to CTX or linear charge IB4300's?
Is this the correct CTX charge settings for this battery:
CTX Step 1 - 7A to 3000mah
CTX Step 2 - 7A to 3050mah
CTX Step 3 - 7A to 5000mah - 03 cutoff, 50 degree cutoff
Repeak in Linear @ 7A with a 10 cutoff
2) What is the best profile setup for the GP4300's? I do know that I should deadshort them with my CTX-D2, what then?
3) I have read this thread on Long-lockout however still cannot get my head around what it is meant to do or help with.
4) Can somebody please explain to me how delta peak effects the battery when temperature is taken into consideration.
Sorry for all the Q's!

1. linear
2. linear again, and DONOT deadshort 4300 if you want the pack to last.
3. In order to avoid false peak and having your battery not fully charged. Basically, for the period you set charger doesn't check for voltage drops
4. The higher delta peak you have the more temperature your battery will end up. Ussulaly on hot days, I have 16 and on cold 24-30 (6 cells)

linear for sure.
As for delta peak, you need 130 degrees at peak for optimiun performance this should be around 20 or 30 you will need to play with it and see where you need it but 20 should be a good starting point.

The whole reason for CTX (step) charging is to allow you to give your cells a break to cool down after hitting them with a higher amperage - using 7A for all three stages will kill your cells. Example would be Step 1: 7A - 3030, Step 2: 0.5A - 3050, step 3: 5A - to peak.
What is important though is the type of battery you are charging. In your post, you mention you have an IB4300 ... they don't exist. Either it's a GP4300 or an IB4200 - both which require different charging profiles. For GP's, you may want to try a step charge - but most that I have spoken with are getting great results with linear charging... for IB's, just charge at 6A linear.

Some people set the same charging rate in all three steps as a way of setting a lockout based on mAH instead of time (CTX charging is locked against delta peak cut in the first two stages). He probably took that profile out of context.

Sorry I meant IB4200's and GP4300's
I have not used that profile, I am just trying to find my bearings with this charger before I start using it. Hence why I am here asking the Q's.
So just to check:
IB4200's linear 6A with 20 delta peak (obviously the delta will change according to temp)
GP4300's - What should I be looking at for linear? As well as what should I be trying on a step charge?
Thanks in advance.

Nautilian, we recommend that you start with a lower delta peak, somewhere in the range of 06 to 10. If you find that your cells do not get up to temperature, then begin increasing the delta peak. You will often see people using higher delta peak settings in cooler weather.
Also, keep your temp cut around 48-49 deg C, as your batteries will be gaining heat even after charge.

Cell Masters
I currently have two Cell Master V1 and I am very pleased with them. Anyone know if there will be a upgrade kit to the new special black LCD screens?
