Well, I can't answer the Fahrenheit question, but for the AA's, I wouldn't go any higher than 1A linear with a normal delta as they tend to false peak (most AAs are not designed for a fast charge), and at that rate you should be able to charge them in the tray with no concerns.

Are you guys having LCD problems.....I found replacement 16x2 LCD's.....3 different colors to choose from easy to change out......for $14.95 you can have a nice display and not have to deal with Much More customer service, the post office or time waiting and wondering when your much more product will be back to you, due to LCD problems! Check it out....

Has anyone been able to re-flash or update firmware on these to charge Lipo's at a decent rate ?
any-one played around with a eprom reader? and able to read the firmware off the silent charger???

is this battery charger still very good? (not planing to use on Li-po for sometime now)

not so much. the thing will only charge LI Ion at 1amp max. for a 4 cell charger it is great.
